As soon as I heard the cop, I got back down as fast as I could. I could hear them slowly coming near where We were.
"What are we going to do?" Clem asked nervously.
"They are probably looking for me" I replied.
"Why? What did you do?"
The cops made their way to the car we were by. The one looked at us for a minute.
"Hey Shawn, it's okay! They are alive!" The other cop said.
"Oh good! Finely a face that's alive!" Said Shawn.
"Yeah, thanks for not shooting." I said.
"Your welcome. My name is officer Mitchell, and this is Shawn. We were looking for survivors and doing our best to kill off the walkers."
Officer Mitchell was about my height. He appeared like he was African American. He was also a little heaver set than I am. Shawn appeared to be Caucasian. He was about my height with black hair and brown eyes.
"Walkers, that's what you call those things?" I asked them.
"Yeah... OH CRAP! There is one coming toward us!" Said Shawn.
"Hurry go with Mitchell back to the cop car! I'll talk care of the walker!"
Clem, Mitchell, and I ran back to the cop car. It wasn't very far away. It was in the middle of the road right in front of Clementine's house. We got in the cop car. I sat on the back seat with Clementine. Clem was sitting next to me on the middle seat. Officer Mitchell sat on the drivers seat.
"Is everyone okay?" Officer Mitchell asked.
"Yeah were just fine." I said for Clem and I.
"Good. This might me a rough ride getting out of here, so I recommend buckling up!" The officer said to us.
Just then Shawn ran back to the car. He got in as fast as he could.
"GO! HURRY!" Shawn yelled.
Officer Mitchell floored it. For a while getting out, wasn't a very pleasant ride. We smacked into other cars that were blocking our path. We even saw an occasional walker getting hit to. After a while, the road got better.
"Glad we are out of that!" I said happily.
"Yeah me to" Officer Mitchell said.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
"We are going to a farm house. It will take about twenty minutes to get there." Shawn said.
"Okay, sounds good." I said.
While we were driving, it was completely silent. Then After five minutes I looked over at Clementine.
I could see tears coming down her cheek. She wasn't making a whole lot of noise, but I knew she was holding it in.
"Hey... Clem, It will be okay. " I said trying to comfort her.
I wrapped my arm around her.
"I can't believe this has happened... a few days ago everything was normal." Clem said in a sad tone.
I tried to come up with something to say that would make her feel better.
"Yeah I know. Everything was different, everything." I said thinking about my wife before she cheated on me.
"Lee.. What happened?" Clementine asked me.
I wasn't sure she was asking me about what I have done or about all the walkers. I decided to come up with some ideas about what I thought happened to the world.
"Well Clem, I think some terrible sickness killed millions of people. After this sickness kills, it resurrects people into those terrible monsters. "
Clementine was quiet for a minute. Then I decided to keep talking.
"But don't worry Clem, I'll protect you. We should also be able to find your parents to. " I said, trying to cheer her up.
"Thanks Lee!" She said, sounding happier.
"Okay everyone we are almost here. There is this old guy named Hershel. I recommend that you stay on his good side." Officer Mitchell said.
"Yeah.. He's my dad. He can be a big pain when he is mad." Shawn added.
We drove up to the house. It was a large two story house with a barn to it's right. It also had a fence around it to keep the walkers out.
