We got done with breakfast. All five of us walked outside. We followed Shawn out to the barn while Clem held my hand.
"Okay.. These aren't the best pieces of wood but they should get the job done." Shawn said.
I looked at the pile of wood. It wasn't what I had in mind. There was so many different sorts of wood.
"Okay, looks good. We probably will be able to fix up your fence pretty good." Kenny said with recurrence.
"Hmm... this will take time but..." I got interrupted.
"Lee, we have to be positive about this. Hershel and Shawn has been good to us. Least we can do is pay them back happily." Kenny said, slightly irritated.
"But I believe we can get this done just fine." I continued, annoyed at Kenny.
"Well I'll let y'all to sort this out. I'll be out later. I think my dad needs me to help him with something."
"Okay, see ya." I said.
Shawn walked back to the house. I picked up a hammer along with a bag of nails that was next to it.
"Okay, I think its best if we split up. Duck and I will take the front of the house while you two take the back."
"Yeah... Okay." I said, still bothered by Kenny.
"Katjaa, they might need some help in the house, If not then come help duck and I. Kenny said.
Katjaa walked back to the house. The four of us looked through the pile of wood to find anything useful.
"So Kenny, what are your plans?" I asked.
"Well I want to fix up my truck soon so my family and I can get out of here. " Kenny said.
"Where will you go?" I asked.
"Well maybe I'll find a safe place for my family and I to live. I'm not too sure though. Hmm... Well I guess if things get awful.. I could get a boat and live in the ocean away from those monsters."
"That actually sounds like a good idea. Do you fish?" I asked.
"Yes. I'm a commercial fisherman! I used to catch all sorts of different types of fish!" Kenny responded with pride.
"Cool, but who's is to say that others haven't taken all the boats?" I asked.
"Yeah true."
We sorted out everything we believed we could use. I looked over at Clementine's pile.
"Good job Clem! We will be able to use some of that stuff!" I said praising Clementine.
We picked up all wood we could handle. The four of us left the barn. Clem and I went to the backyard, while Kenny and Duck went towards the front. Clem and I dropped the wood that we held and began to inspect the fence.
"There's a hole!" Clementine said pointing.
"Yeah! Good job!" I said. "Let's get that patched up."
The hole was about three feet big. I picked up a bored and fitted it against the hole to make sure it would work.
"That looks good. Clem hand me some nails and that hammer."
Clementine handed me the hammer first, then a handful of nails. I hammered the bored to the fence tightly.
"There. That should hold." I said.
"Lee, this looks like it's going to fall down. " Clementine said, pointing.
"Oh yeah it does. That wooden post looks like it will break soon. We better reinforce it." I said
