The next morning I woke up to birds chirping. There was sunlight peeking through small cracks of the barn. Everyone else seemed to be sleeping still. I decided that it was time to wake everyone up.
"Clem." I said quietly.
"Time to wake up Clem!" I said while nudging her to get up.
I could hear weird quiet sounds. They sounded like walker sounds. I began to get nervous.
"Clem?" I said while shacking her to get up.
I looked over. Kenny and his family had left.
"Oh no. Clem!" I said now yelling.
Clementine started moving. The strange walker sounds started getting louder. I realized that Clementine had turned.
"CLEM! OH NO.... CLEM!!" I yelled unwilling to believe what my eyes.
I got out of my sleeping bag and started running towards the back of the back of the barn. The undead Clementine started shuffling quickly towards me.
"Oh no... KENNY?!" I yelled, hoping that he was still here.
There was no response. The undead Clem was almost to where I was. I looked around frantically for a weapon. Then I saw a 2x4 right behind Clem.
"I'm sorry Clem."
I pushed the undead Clem out of the way, knocking her down to the ground. I went to grab the 2x4 as quickly as I could. Then the undead Clem seemed to have appeared next to me and was trying to attack my arm.
"No, NO!" I said still trying to believe what was happening.
The undead Clem started attacking me in a more fierce manner. She became more aggressive. I feel onto my back while trying to push Clementine away.
"Clem! Stop! Get off of me!" I yelled.
I reached for the 2x4. While doing so, Clementine bit my arm.
"NO!" I yelled.
I punched Clem, then got a hold of the 2x4. I stood up while Clem was still on the ground.
Tears filled my eyes. "Clem, I'm sorry." I said on the brink of starting to cry.
I raised the 2x4 above Clementines head. At this point I was crying. I dropped the 2x4 and took a few steps backward. Then I started to feel like I was shacking.
I could hear something faint but still continued to cry.
Then felt like I was being shaken more violently.
"Lee?"
I felt shacking again.
"Lee, wake up! Please!"
I woke up. I realized it was just a dream. I could feel tears running down my cheek. It was still very dark.
"Lee. Are you awake?" Clementine asked nervously.
"Yeah, I'm awake. Wow, I just had the worst dream ever." I said while wiping the tears from my face.
I sat up.
"Lee, you okay?" Kenny asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just an awful dream." I replied.
"Okay. Well go back to sleep. " Kenny said.
I laid back down. My heart was still calming down.
"Lee, you sounded very scared." Clementine said, whispering.
"I did?"
"Yeah, you were kind of yelling and breathing heavy." Clementine said.
"I'm sorry that I woke you." I said.
"It's okay. What was your dream about?" Asked Clementine.
"I'll tell you in the morning. Let's go back to sleep. " I said.
"Okay. Goodnight Lee.
"Goodnight Clem." I said more calmly.
Everyone fell back to sleep.
Then I woke up. It seemed to be how my dream was. Birds chirping and the sun peeking through the cracks of the barn.
"Alright everyone, let's get going." Kenny said.
I sat up and looked over at Clem. She was still sleeping peacefully.
I smiled." Hey Clem, its time to wake up!" I said while nudging her arm.
Clementine woke up and looked at me.
I smiled and said "Good morning Clem!"
She smiled back at me. "Good morning Lee!"
"How'd you sleep?" I asked.
"Pretty good." She said while stretching.
"Good. Well let's get dressed!"
"Okay."
I looked over at Kenny and his family for a second. I noticed that they were getting dressed as well. Clem and I started to get dressed. When we were done, we stood up.
"Well, they should take care of these sleeping bags." Kenny said.
Everyone walked out. It was dawn outside. Clementine felt nervous and held my hand. I opened the barn door. The fresh, cool morning air came and brushed up against us.
"They look like they are up to." Katjaa said.
"Yeah they do." Kenny said.
Everyone noticed movements in the house.
"Should we go talk to them? Or just go?" I asked.
"Let's just go. We have done enough damage here." Kenny said.
"Alright." I said.
Everyone walked toward Kenny's truck.
"You good on gas?" I asked.
"Yeah, should be for a while. Got an extra five gallons in the back." Kenny responded.
Kenny's truck was an older Ford. It was a four door with scuffed up blue paint. Clem and I sat in the back while Kenny, Duck, and Katjaa sat in the front bench. Kenny started the truck. We began moving when we saw Shawn bolt out of the house. Hershel was following. Katjaa rolled down her window.
"Hey guys. Headed out?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah were on our way!" Kenny said.
Hershel caught up to Shawn. He was holding a small cardboard box.
"Well good luck!" Shawn said.
"Here is some food for the road. It's not much but hopefully it will help." Hershel said while handing Katjaa the small box through the window.
"Thanks!" Katjaa and Kenny said.
"You bet!" Hershel said.
"Well, we better get going. Good luck you two!" Kenny said.
Clementine rolled down her window.
"Bye! " she said while waving.
"Bye Clem! Take care of yourself!" Shawn said.
"Okay, you to!" Clementine said while Kenny started to drive away.
Clementine rolled back up the window and we began to take off.
