Yasuki clears his throat,

"The spring didn't come
The bewildered time never tick
Her eyes as beautiful as the horizon
Forever out of my reach
I'd cherish that smile
Blue hue sea
deep green leaves
Distant but clear

I will one day reach them when life no longer breathes
When I can no longer hear
Quelling noises within my mental fear
Spring hadn't come, yet it's near."

Everybody in the club room applause after Yasuki finished rehearsing his poem. He was the last person to rehearse, so Monika ended the club meeting. She asked everybody if they are ready to perform on the day of the festival. Successfully Natsuki and Sayori were head-on confident enough leaving Yuri still anxious about the concept of performing.

Sayori and the protagonist walked home together like the previous days. Evading each other, Natsuki and Yuri walked home alone. As for Monika, she stood by the window just like the days before today. Taking a notch Yasuki pulls a chair and sits next to the desk closes to her.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He kept his gaze locked at her.

Their eyes meet, Monika adjusts her longer bangs to the back of her ear. "I finally realize something--something that you would never understand. Only from the other side, he would understand my simple reality."

"Your realization is not something I can't comprehend." Said Yasuki. "If you want help I am here to help, just talk to me. I'll accept anything that you can't accept."

Monika didn't respond to him yet, instead, she grabs her school bag and head to the door. Opening the door she said to him, "Thanks for being considerate, but I don't need your help. Just don't interfere I would really appreciate that." Then she shut the club room door.

"You see? She doesn't need you regardless."

"Who is that?!" Yasuki gets out of his seat.

"Did you forgot all about me? My voice may have faded for nearly a decade, but that doesn't mean I'll vanish from your pitiful thoughts."

Yasuki opens his school bag and reaches in to grab his pill bottle. He promptly pops the lid open and swallows a pill. Panting as his pupils quivers uncontrollably. After waiting for quite a while Yasuki finally calms down. Closing the lid he would put it back into the bag.

"Heh. I might actually be crazy." He sigh.

The following day is Friday! Like yesterday, Monika is the last person to come into the club room. However, the protagonist approaches her and asked about Sayori's sudden change of emotion. Yasuki overheard their conversation, yet he sat still and wait to see what Monika plans to do next. The protagonist obliviously went near the back of the classroom, he sat there just staring into space. Again, Yasuki overheard Monika and Sayori's conversation.

"Are you really not feeling well?"

"I, I just feel kind of off today. Everything's been really hard for me to be honest."

"Oh? If you want you can leave the club early. You don't have to stick around for the activity." Monika tries to be considerate.

"N-no, I want to stay, for a bit at least. I am interested in knowing how he actually feels."

"Aren't you worried? Even if he did dedicate his poems to you he might not mean what he says." Monika said in a concerning tone. "After all, not every childhood friends stay friends. There's bound to be some kind of obstacle to separate you two. You know what they say, words sometimes can't prove that emotion is real."

Sayori sigh. "Thanks, Monika. I'll keep your words in mind."

"No problem. It's what friends are for. Just let me know if you need anything." Monika gently pat Sayori's shoulder and went back to her usual seat at the front of the classroom.

Yasuki sees Monika already interfering with the game's script. Suddenly he sees her glancing back at him with a malevolent smile. Startled he stares through her eyes where the light in it flicks. Definitely not a good cue.

After a while pass, Monika finally announces to the whole club, "Okay, everyone! It's time to share your poems."

Everybody closed their books and get their poems out. Remembering the fact that Sayori isn't acting like herself the protagonist approaches her. Curious Yasuki kept his gaze at them listing to their conversation. The way Sayori sounded was way worst than how she sounded yesterday.

"You go on and have fun with everyone else. I'll go home early today." Sayori kept gazing away from his eyes, almost as if every glance she took cuts through her chest. "I just want to see smiles from everyone. Ahehe."

The protagonist stood there and watch her skip out of the room. Scratching his head he would proceed to share his poems with everybody else. Yasuki couldn't care less about what Monika wants him to do, out of free will he too left the club room. From the corner of the long hallway, he could hear sobs.

"Sayori?"

She quickly wipes her tears sniffing her whimper away. "Y-yeah?"

Yasuki beam at her weak smile. "C'mon, let's go get you some fresh air. I'll get you something to drink too."

They both continue down the first floor where a vending machine is available. Yasuki bought both of them apple juice to drink. Yasuki gaze down at Sayori.

"Aren't you going to drink?" He asked.

Quickly she nods. "I am. Sorry if I spaced out."

"Hm." Yasuki takes his first sip on the bottle. "So, do you like him?"

Sayori blushed. "I, I don't know what you're talking about!"

"You're just like a book, so it's obvious that you like him." He paused. "Though there are things that some people just can't see."

"Huh?"

Their eyes meet.

"We're both the same. When I was little I was desperate for people to avoid me... Until she came along and resolved my mixed emotions. She gave me a reason to live." Said Yasuki. "But right now she has changed. To her, I'm merely a random stranger that just so happens to be her friend."

"And who is she?"

"Their name is classified, besides they prefer not being exposed." Yasuki finishes the apple juice bottle, he tosses it at the recycling can and unfortunately missed. "Aw man, today's just not my lucky day."

Sayori gulps all the apple juice from the bottle, she attempts to toss it at the recycling can too. Her clumsiness got to her, the bottle slips off her hand as she trips and falls on top of him.

"I, I'm sorry! Are you alright?!" She wondered.

"Yeah, I'm alright. At least I didn't hit my head." Yasuki could feel her weight against his body. "And please get off me."

Sayori stammer, "Right!" She quickly gets off him making sure her skirt didn't flip or anything.

Yasuki stands up giving her a hand. She grabs his hand standing up after him. Her head still aches from yesterday's incident where she accidentally hit her forehead on the shelves in a closet. Her mind and body become unsteadily, she would quickly grip onto his sleeves.

"Eh?"

"Don't move." She said. "Let me hold onto you for a moment."

"Okay." Yasuki noticed her cuteness when she shows her weak persona. He averts his eyes feeling the butterflies in his stomach.
