"Four years has passed, huh?" Monika gazed around the station as she step out of the train. "I wonder how he's been doing. I'm sure he's been doing great without me."

Monika took a taxi to her parent's house. Her parents knew that she would be coming home from college, but her sudden arrival surprised them. The smiles on their face makes her happy as well. They kept her old bedroom the same as it was, nothing was rearranged. The only difference was the amount of particles and dust in her room.

After unpacking her things she decided to give her friends a little visit. Yasuki's house was the furthest away, but something about being far from him makes her want to see his face again. Monika breathes in the fresh air.

"Oh, it's you." Yuri stood in front of Monika. "I thought you said you wouldn't be back until next week. Why'd you come so early?"

She beamed at her. "There was a party for all the college graduates, but I didn't want to attend since people are just going to drink all night long. I've been to parties, so I already know what's coming."

"I see." Yuri awkwardly walked next to her.

Monika looks down at the ground. "How's everyone been doing so far? Did I miss any occasions?"

"Hm, well actually, no. Ever since we disperse four years ago nothing special came up. Only that one recent time when... " Yuri paused.

"When?"

Her eyes timidly averts away from Monika's curious look. "N-nothing. It's nothing that important."

"Is there something you're not suppose to tell me about?" Monika halts.

Yuri stop walking as well. Evading the topic she would quickly said, "I, I forgot about something at home. I, I'll see you later!" Then dash out of sight.

Monika's brows twist. "She's acting so strange. Has things change that much over the past few years?"

Approaching Sayori's house she ring the doorbell. She waited for a solid two minutes before Sayori reaches for the door and opens it. There she stood still in her pajama.

"Good morning!" Sayori greeted.

"Um, by now it's actually afternoon already." Said Monika.

"Well whatever." Sayori grabs her wrist and welcomed her into the house. "I didn't know you were already back."

"Yeah, that's the third time I've heard people say." Monika chuckled at herself.

"Want toast bread?"

"N-no thanks."

Sayori brings a plate of burnt bread and sat on the couch eating them like it's delightful. Not to judge her cooking, but after four years there were literally no culinary progress made. Monika glanced at the bread first before looking at Sayori.

"How is he?" Monika wondered.

"Oh, it's been doing fine. Although I'm worried that he might not get enough sleep since he's been in front of that PC and talking to a camera most of the time. It's really hard to understand him lately." Sayori frowned.

"Maybe he's recording videos to show people what he's passionate about. Who knows, he might be popular." Monika chuckled once more. "You might have to protect your man from the web as much as possible."

"There's spider webs in his house?!" Sayori gasp.

"N-no, I meant the world wide webs."

Sayori gasp even louder. "Then it's bad to just protect one person! We have to help mankind before spiders dominate the world!"

"Oh, that's not what I meant." Monika pulls out her phone and use a random app as a example. "Like this, people like using this to communicate and entertain one another."

"Ah, I get it! I can't believe I was so dumb!" Sayori laughed.

Monika awkward laughed along then said, "You're not dumb. You're just funny."

"Thanks, Monika." Sayori sadly smiled. "I know that deep down I'm dumb, but with such a kind heart you kept flattering those who you would be scared to hurt. Sometimes it makes me wonder how life would be like if I was completely useless. Nobody wanting me to exist."

"Don't say that." Monika stands up. "You and everybody else are equally smart and dumb. Mistakes are not the right measurement to use when defining if a person is dumb or smart. Never ever use that kind of measurement. Well, I gotta go see how Natsuki and Yasuki are doing."

Before she leaves the house Sayori suddenly blurt out, "Don't go!" Quickly she covers her mouth. "I-I mean, just be careful, Monika."

"Alright." Something about Yuri and Sayori was a bit off. They seem tentative, perhaps they're keeping something from her. Either way Monika will try to figure out what they were hiding.

Monika strolled across the city to see nostalgic scenes of her childhood. Then again, the memories doesn't seem to be hers yet it's hers. Before heading straight to Yasuki's house Monika finds herself to walk toward a park. The swings looked smaller than she remembered. She sits on the swing as she gazed above the sky. As the breeze pass by Monika would close her eyes listening to the wind's whispers in her ears.

"Are you Monika?" Somebody suddenly ask.

Monika instantly open her eyes to see those bright yellow eyes. "Yasuki?" She blinked again to noticed that it was only a little girl.

"I'm not Yasuki, but if you're looking for him then I'm afraid you're looking in the wrong place." Said the girl.

"Ah, right." Then she noticed. "How did you know my name?"

"I just had a hunch. Nothing practical." The girl went and sit on the swing next to Monika.

"By the way, what's your name?"

"Maki."

"Wow, it's a cute name for a cute girl like you. Fits you perfectly." Monika complimented her name, however she doesn't seem to be smiling either. "Are you lost? Perhaps you just came out here to play?"

Maki slightly smiled. "Do you believe in ghost?"

"Why of course I do. Is there something bothering you?" She wondered.

Maki shook her head. "It's not bothering me. I just happen to have a ghost friend, or imaginary friend if that's what you call it. People don't believe me, but he's always close to me, following me and sometimes when I cry he would comfort me."

Monika didn't want to believe it, but the little girl said it as if everything were real to her. "I believe you. I think that your friend is a very nice person. It would be nice if I get to see him."

Maki grins. "Really? You want to meet him?!"

Monika nods as a response.

As soon as she does so the girl frown. "He said he doesn't want you to see him. He even said that he's really really ugly, so ugly in fact that you don't ever want to meet another ghost again."

"But you see him, right?" Monika grins. "I'm sure he's not as ugly as he thought he is. You don't seem to be afraid of looking at him, so I'm sure it won't be that bad."

Maki points at a direction. He's standing right there. Monika swallows her pride and gaze at that direction. Thinking that ghost have cold green skins and blood dripping from their chin and fingertips. However, she saw nothing standing over there at all.

"Aw, he doesn't want to show himself. Well, it's too bad." Maki leaps off the swing. "It's time for me to head back before Natsuki gets mad."

"Eh? Natsuki?"

"Yup, she's your friend, right?" Maki skips toward the crosswalk. "C'mon, I'll take you there! She's baking sweets!"

"How do you even know that I'm friends with her?" Monika felt even more puzzled.

"Like I said, it's just a hunch!" Maki chuckled.
