Strolling down the streets at night felt really relaxing for Yasuki, the breeze just gently passing by him as he immerse himself to the calm silence. Somehow the silence gradually becomes eerie to him. He quickly covered both of his ears despising the sound. Crazy enough he find himself walking away from the sound. The sound just faded as Yasuki uncovers his ears. Then there he realized he stood in the middle of somewhere unfamiliar. Glancing around the streets he sees a apartment building and a parking lot just across the street.
"Did I lost my way home?" He asked himself.
Yasuki definitely is lost, he hadn't been in Japan for so long that he had forgotten some streets. Standing at the apartment's main entrance he would look at the GPS in his phone. The door suddenly opened, there he saw Monika whom was just about to take out the trash.
"Eh?" She blinked.
"Ah." He felt speechless.
"What are you doing here late at night?" She wondered.
"I just lost my way home." Yasuki chuckled at himself.
Monika walks to the dumpster and threw her trash bag in, cleansing her hands she would go back to the door. Yasuki's phone battery suddenly died, he panicked.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"May I use your phone charger? My phone died." He desperately asked.
Monika sigh. "Yeah, you can use it."
Yasuki followed her to her apartment room. He takes his shoes off at the front, she lead him to her living room. Monika didn't have furniture, just cushions and a little table to sit at. Deciding to sit there she comes back to the living room with her charger cord. She plugged it at the wall charging his phone. Monika didn't even look at him during that whole time which made Yasuki feel extra awkward just waiting for his phone to charge at least halfway.
"Do you still talk to Yumi and Haruhi?" Yasuki asked.
"Huh?" Monika looked puzzled for a moment, but then she answered anyways, "N-no, I haven't spoken to them since junior high."
"Junior high? Did you guys really dispersed or was there some problems between you guys?" He questioned.
Monika shook her head. "To be honest, Yasuki. Haruhi and Yumi dated during their second year in junior high. I... Didn't want to come between them so I just stopped speaking to them, and when high school came I find myself making more and new friends." Monika locked her gaze on Yasuki. "I want to ask you about the letter that I sent me a month ago."
"What is there for you to ask? Didn't I tell you everything?"
Her gaze were very serious. "I've been wondering. Why did you try to kill Haruhi eight years ago? Was there some kind of motivation for you to harm him?"
"I..." He clenched his fist, he was cornered by Monika herself. Yasuki smiled. "You would hate me if I try to tell you everything. I didn't think you'd be completely aware."
"That's just utter doubt. I am aware even as a kid. Your actions were off ever since we met. And that's why I can't accept your confession." Monika stated.
Yasuki felt his chest ache, her doubt just frustrates his thoughts. Even though everything he had done from the past is all wrong, he still want to tell her his reason behind those attempts and the full side of his story.
"I've... I've changed, Monika. I'm not that same harmful little kid anymore." He said.
"Then explain to me why you came here to Japan? I know you don't plan to just finish school here, but you also plan to do something else too. Something that would harm him in particular. Am I correct?" She still proceeds to doubt his words.
