"I'm fine rats, clar really"

"M you don't need to come today...we could tell you have fever or something...maybe if you spend some time alone..." clar trailed off

"I can't hide at home forever can I?"

"You can't but..."

"No buts, I'll have to do this and I will do it." I said with determination. I walked to the door, my bag

"You guys coming or not?" I asked and heard clar sigh they both followed me out though. I was really good at lying. This was one thing I was really proud of myself, that I could lie convincingly. Nobody could catch me.

School was about fifteen minutes walking distance from home but our usual chatter was silenced today making it seem like centuries.

"So clar...how's Aadi?" I asked trying to lighten up the mood

"Umm he's a good dancer" clar replied

"And?" rats asked her

"And he's a very sweet guy"

"Go on" rats said

Clar started her blabber about Aadi while I took this opportunity to tune out the discussion and clear out my mind. Yesterday after I came back from the party I texted clar and rats that I was home and asked them to stay and enjoy the party because I knew they would soon notice my absence and start to worry. I changed into my pajamas and lay on the bed thinking about the kiss...it was amazing no doubt but I also had to keep in mind that Nish wasn't that my best friend anymore. He had changed into a player...me being his first victim. So did that kiss mean anything? Or was he just playing with my feelings? My mind told me it was the latter but my heart urged me to follow my first intuition. I tried to remember how he had thrown me away some years back. I had swore to hate him ever since. I had known that guys weren't capable of truly loving someone and I had finally learnt to cope with it but he came back and all my past buried feelings came alive. I remembered how my heart had caused me to break and that's when I made my decision

"I know you can do it. You're strong" rats said pulling me out of my thoughts. I notice we were already in the school. I smiled at her as a thank you and walked to my locker. From the corner of my eyes I noticed Nish standing a few feet away from me. I noticed that he was staring but I chose to ignore him at all costs. I quickly took the books I'd need for the first few periods and shoved then in my bag. I then walked towards him, he looked at me expectantly but I walked past him to my first class.

"MYRA"

I was standing few feet from the school cafeteria with my friends when I heard someone yell my name making me turn to see who it was.

"Bhakti ma'am has asked you to meet her now in the art room" Kaustav said panting

"Okay thank you" I replied to him before he said welcome and walked away to have lunch with his friends. I didn't know him very well except that he was in my grade. I hadn't spoken to him as such.

"And there goes my lunch" I said smiling politely at my friends

"Want us to wait?" clar said

"Nah its Bhakti ma'am so mostly I won't be back for a few hours"
