Tides of Virtue – Chapter 11 (Fairy Tail Fan-Fiction)

Dragging her feet, Serenity walked next to Lucy back to their house in a dejected silence. Even the flowing waters of the canal seemed to be captured in a state of complete tranquility. The only sound that echoed around them was from their soft footsteps, and the summer breeze, which combed through their hair, blowing it around them in ringlets of gold and brown.

Looking over at Lucy, Serenity saw how thoughtful she looked: her eyebrows were pulled together, her crimson lips were pursed, and her brown-eyes were dark and down casted. She wished she could be that calm about the guild being destroyed, but she couldn't. The fiery-rage that swirled in her stomach refused to be doused. Whenever she tried to make it go away, it would just get bigger and bigger until she couldn't contain it anymore and she was forced to take it out on the nearest thing around her, which unfortunately for Natsu, had been him on almost every occasion.

Stopping, Serenity grabbed Lucy's arm breaking her from her state of deep pensiveness. "Lucy," she said quietly. "We're home." She gestured with her head to the looming red building to their right.

Lucy looked up at it dazed. "Yeah. You're right. I must have been really lost in thought to have almost walked past it."

Serenity smiled at her weakly, before pushing open the door and dragging Lucy over the threshold. What they saw inside was so shocking that it almost caused both of them to fall over.

Erza, Gray, Natsu, and Happy were all lounging around like they owned the place. Gray had taken up residence at their writing desk and he was reading through some of the papers that lay on it. Natsu was sitting at their dinner table, his head laying on it as he stared at the wall. Happy was on the table next to him. And Erza...well...it seemed she'd had a fun time enjoying their bath, because she had one of their pink towels wrapped around her body with another one wrapped around her head, and she was sitting on Lucy's bed.

Serenity shook her head, blinking a few times thinking she was imagining it, but when everything stayed the same, she finally spoke up. "What are you guys doing here!!?"

Erza answered her calmly as she towel-dried her hair. "Since Phantom Lord attack us, they may know where each of the guild members lives. So, we thought it best to stay at someone else's house."

Lucy face palmed. "So, you chose ours?"

"I seemed like the best option," Erza replied.

Serenity glanced over at Gray—curious about what he was reading that had him so captivated. She was shocked to see that it was the story that she was writing. "Gray!" she cried, tackling him to the ground, wrestling the papers out of his hands. "What do you think you're doing!?" she inquired angrily as she sat atop his chest.

He looked up at her in a daze. "Reading," was his breathy reply.

Serenity glared down at him, completely oblivious to their awkward positioning. "This is my story! And you didn't have my permission to read it! It's not edited yet, and it's bloody terrible!" She hugged the papers tighter to her chest.

Gray sat up, making Serenity slide from his chest to his lap. "I think it's amazing," he whispered. "I love the love-triangle between Haru, Yukio, and Akihiko." Gray leaned forward so that his mouth was right by her ear. "I hope Haru ends up with Yukio." Serenity's cheeks flared with color. She'd modeled Haru after herself, Akihiko after Natsu, and Yukio after Gray. It seems that he'd figured that out.
