Chapter 18

"I left because I had to." He said softly.

"W-What?" I stuttered. No this can't be my dad. Can it?

He pulled back resting his strong hands on my shoulders softly, "None of you were the reason why I left."

"D-D-Dad?" I stuttered looking into his eyes.

He nodded. Ears formed from his head and I saw a tail wagging behind him.

I jumped into his arms feeling tears fall from my cheeks. My tail was wagging softly and my ears flat down. I was clinging onto like a sloth.

I let out a sob into the crook of his neck.

"Shh. Its okay my little gem. I'm finally here." He said rubbing my back soothingly.

I knew I made a scene and people were staring but I felt like being in my dads arms again, that he will protect me again. Away from the mean people and their stares. I finally felt safe.

I calmed down after awhile and climbed down wiping my eyes and cheeks in the process. I felt arms wrap around my waist from behind. I smiled knowing it was Alex.

"I always knew you were a lesbian." My dad teased.

"Dad!" I felt my face heat up.

I looked at my mum. Maybe I should give her another chance. If she doesn't change I have dad.

"Mum."

She looked me in the eyes with sadness.

I walked up to her, with Alex's arms falling, and pulled her in a hug.

I felt her tense but loosen up when she returned the hug.

"I'm sorry." She said softly.

I pulled away, "I'll give you another chance."

Her face brightened.

"Just support me as well." I added.

She nodded. Dad pulled us in a group hug.

I felt safe and happy in their arms. I finally have my family back.

My dad looked at the awkward standing Alex and reached an arm out, "I have a felling you're going to be stuck with us." He said with a smile.

She shook her head, "I don't wa-"

He interrupted her by pulling her in. She smiled and decided to hug back.

I have a feeling things are going to be up more than down from now on. 

"Hey guys! Stop hugging so we can celebrate!" I let out a laugh when I heard Bolin yelling at us.

We broke the hug. I smiled. A real full smile. "Yeah, yeah Bolin. We all know your hungry for Opal." I smirked, teasing him.

The couple turned bright red, "Shut up. We're going to my restaurant and I'm cooking." 

I looked at my mum and dad.

"We're hungry." His stomach growled. 

We laughed while his face turned a bit pink.

"Me and Alex will meet you their. I have to pick up Yip."

Bolin saluted and walked away with the others.

I gave my dad one last hug and ran to the car with Alex.
