Chapter 29

"Beep beep beep beep beep"

I opened my eyes to close then straight away. Bright white walls. The smell of chemicals. Hospital. I'm in the hospital. Again. But this time for a different reason. I let out a sigh as I got annoyed with the monitor beeping constantly. 

"You awake?" I heard a soft new voice say.

I opened my eyes to see a blonde in a white coat with a warm smile.

"I guess you are." She said softly.

Am I dead? Who is she? I looked at her name tag, Amber. Guess she is my doctor or something.

I sat up, "Umm hi?" I said confused. She actually looks kind of familiar.

"You don't remember me? Well, I guess you were asleep whenever I did check on you." She said looking at a clipboard.

I rose a brow, intrigued. "I'm your doctor." She said with a smile.

"Um-mm." My voice cracked making me realize my throat was dry.

She handed me a cup of water.

I drank the whole thing and sighed of relief, "Thanks."

"Mhm." She hummed.

"So how long am I staying?" I asked.

"One more night then you are free." She said giving me a smile and walked out the door.

I groaned, "How long was I out?" I asked looking around to see a vase full of red and pink tulips. My favourite. Was Alex here? No. I highly doubt it. But she was the only one I told about my favourite flowers.

"You okay Miss?" I hear breaking me from my thoughts.

"Huh? Yeah. Sorry." 

"You were out for two days." She answered.

"Thank you. Umm who was here?" I asked pointing, with my thumb, to the flowers.

"A girl with red hair. She didn't say anything just sat in the chair and held your hand." She said with a smile.

My heart sunk. She was here. But why? I am doing the worst thing to her, and I don't even know how it's going to end.

"T-Thankyou." I said holding back tears

"Well, she did say one thing. That she would be back when she can. Something about finding answers." The doctor said walking to the door.

"Well, get some rest. You are going to need it if you want to get out of here." She said with another smile and left.

I looked around then sighed. So she did come. But what does she mean by answers, it's as if she knows something is up. Does she? But how would she know?

I whipped my head to the nightstand when I heard a ring. Oh, it's my phone.

"Hello?" I said into the phone when I answered.

"Hey, Sapphire." I heard Asami on the other side of the phone. She sounded nervous.

"You okay?"

"Just a heads up. A flaming redhead is on her way and she is.... actually you will find out." Then she hung up.

Well fuck.

I waited, knowing that I have no choice but to just take it. 

My eyes felt heavy and deciding that Alex can wait, I laid down and closed my eyes.

I felt warmth on my hand and decided to open my eyes to check it out. 

I saw red. Alex.

"Alex. Why are you here?" I asked sitting up.

"You fucking idiot." She said. I could tell she was on the verge of tears just by listening to her.

"I know I'm an idiot. What about it?" I don't know if she knows anything.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She looked up at me with tears falling down her cheeks.

"Tell you what?"

"That my bitch of a mom was planning to pull us apart! Do you even know what you were going to do at the end when everything has gone as planned! Because ASMAI didn't and she is basically the mastermind of everything!" She yelled while tears flowed like rivers down her cheeks.

"Alex I-"

"NO! Just don't. All I ask is if that you still love me. Kiss me." She said trying to wipe her tears away.

With no hesitation, I grabbed her wet cheeks and brought her lips to mine. I felt her jump knowing she was surprised. But she kissed back. My heart started pounding again and my stomach was filled with butterflies. I'm happy that I can kiss her again.
