Chapter 24

I was driving to Selina's for like the third time this week and it's only Thursday. Alex has started to get suspicious and started asking more questions. It's been a full week already and were close to the second. I'm barely hanging on to not telling Alex the whole plan. I rested my head on the steering wheel. 

I realized I was already at her house. I let out a frustrated growl, "Whyyyyyyy." I sighed.

I got out of the car and walked through Selina's door, "Selina! I'm here."

Another person's head popped around the corner from the kitchen, "Are you the all so famous Sapphire Shard?" She said with a raised eyebrow.

Huh did she get actually get Emery back? "And you must be the famous perfect girlfriend, Emery." I said walking towards with a smile.

"Mhmm. I don't know about perfect though." She muttered.

"It's true!" I heard a distant yell.

"From what I've heard she makes you sound like an idol. Just saying." I shrugged.

She shook her head while rolling her eyes.

"Chicken." I said when she pulled packaged chicken out of the sink.

"Mhm. Heard it was your favourite." She said with a smile.

"Yes."

She let out a giggle.

"Heyo!" Someone tackled my back.

"Hey Selina."

She stood in front of me, "Soo I told Emery everything. And she is down to help. She is going to help Asami and make sure you don't lose Alex. We just have to get Asami over here." She said looking into my eyes with a smile.

"You want me to get Asami over here? Now?"

She shook her head, "No. I already asked but she's hanging with Korra. She said tomorrow morning though."

"Um okay. So I have to come over tomorrow too? Geez."

"No, you are staying the night. It'll make Alex more suspicious. Don't worry you can borrow my clothes." She said with a now sad smile. 

I let out a sigh, "You think I should cut my hair?" I said looking at my now faded blue hair, "And get it dyed?"

"Hmm, You think Asami knows someone?" She asked tapping her chin.

"Probably."

The smell of chicken hit my nose, "Mm~ Smells good." I said closing my eyes.

"Oo~ I didn't know you were a werewolf." I heard Selina.

I shrugged, too enhanced in the scent of chicken.

I snapped out of the trance when my phone started ringing.

"Hello?"

"Hey, little pup!" I heard my dad's excited voice on the other end.

"Hey, daddy!" I said with excitement.

Selina gave me a weird look. I just waved her off.

"What's up?" 

"Wondering if you would like to go on a trip with us in a month or so. Maybe earlier. You get two tagalongs." He said with happiness in his voice.

"Sure! Where at?" I asked thinking of taking Selina and Alex. Asami could come and afford her own ticket knowing she is coming close to taking her father's business soon.

"Umm. That's a surprise." He said with a chuckle.

"Okay, dad. Just call when you have all the details." I rolled my eyes.

"Will do. Love you."

"Love you too dad." I hung up and put my phone in my pocket.

"Is the chicken ready?" I asked walking over to Emery.

"I just started it."

I frowned, "Cheer up Sapphire! Let's watch some cartoons." Selina grabbed my hand and pulled me into the living room.

"This is going to be a long month." I mumbled.

"You say something?"

"Huh? Oh, no." I shook my head.

"Why is your chicken better than mine?" I asked frustrated while cleaning the dishes. I forced them to let me. Much to their dismay but they will get over it.

"I dunno. Maybe because I can cook better?" Emery said taking ice cream out of the fridge, "Ice cream? We have chocolate." She said grabbing bowls.

"I can't eat chocolate. Werewolf thing." I said with a chuckle.

"Then oreo?" She asked.

"Of course." I sighed and dried my hands, "You need to teach me your ways. Your ways of cooking." I said with certainty. 

"Well, you're going to be here for a while. So I guess I can." She said handing me my bowl.

"Thanks." I said with a smile.

My phone started ringing. I looked at the caller ID to see it was Alex. I let out a sigh, "It's her."

"Umm, should you answer it?" Selina asked as we walked into the living room.

"I want too."

"But should you?" She asked.

I let out a frustrated growl, "I don't know."

Selina took the phone and answered, "Hello?"

"Put it on speaker." I whispered.

She did as told, "Hello? Who is this?" Came from the phone. Geez, I miss her.

"This is Selina."

"Oh. Where is Sapphire?" She asked.

Selina looked at me.

I hanged my head and shrugged.

"She's in the shower." She said.

A tear fell down my cheek onto the carpet. Emery pulled me into her arms and rubbed my back.

"Tell her to call me when she's done. Please?" She asked with hope in her voice.

"Will do. Bye."

Alex hung up.

"Well, she's not happy."

"I wouldn't be either." I said into Emery's shoulder.

"C'mon. Ice cream is melting."

Man, this whole writer's block is getting to me. But I did a thing! Hehehehe, I'm actually surprised I wrote at least this much. I also go Grammarly (non-spon(I feel like I should say this for some reason)) Its honestly doing wonders for me so I recommend it. XD
