"Why don't you tell us where we're going before I cut your damn head off?" Patricia fumed, twirling a knife around in her hands.
"You don't you grow some balls and a bit of patience?" The girl retorted.
"Why don't you both shut up and we just follow her!" I yelled. I sighed angrily, the two had been arguing for the entire thirty minutes we've been walking. Patricia rolled her eyes and groaned. A house came into view from behind the trees, some old abandoned shack. The girl pointed to it.
"Welcome home." She said, walking right in. I glanced at Patricia, she watched the house wearily. I frowned and walked inside, Patricia sighed and followed. The place was oddly lively inside. Two people sat around, an older lady and a young guy. The two women looked similar, I assumed they were family, but the guy looked a bit like me.
"Jo, who's this?" The older lady asked, standing up.
"Mom, this is Castiel Novak and his... Friend."
"More of his bodyguard but friend is fine." Patricia said sarcastically. The older lady paid no attention to her witty remark and walked up to us.
"Hello, I'm Ellen Harvelle. That's my daughter, Jo, and a boy we met, Jack. We've been stuck in Purgatory for a while, it's nice to see other people." She shook my hand and I nodded. The girl, Jo, frowned and sat down in a small chair. Jack stood up and joined us, he smiled.
"Hi..."
"Hi, Jack." I smiled back and shook his hand. We all sat down, when I collapsed on the old couch, a cloud of dust blew up.
"Anyways." Ellen said. "What brings you two here? I can tell you guys didn't die, what happened?"
"We-- along with my sister, Kristyn-- came to save my friend, Dean."
"Dean Winchester?" Jo perked up. I nodded, she frowned. "Not worth it. That douche set me up on a date and abandoned me for his stupid brother."
"Don't insult Sam!" I snapped, everyone jumped slightly. "Sam and Dean rely on each other and they're hunters, saving lives and taking down monsters is more important than your date."
Jo rolled her eyes and looked away. "Whatever."
"You mentioned a sister." Jack said, changing the topic. "Where is she?"
"She was caught by... Something. It came by fast and just swooped her up and disappeared." Patricia explained.
"An aranea-"
"Don't finish that! It can't be." Ellen cut off Jack. "We trapped them all."
Jack's face fell. "Then they must have broken loose..."
"That's impossible!" Jo cried. Ellen shook her head.
"It's not, we need to go." She turned to me and Patricia. "Ready to fight some giant spiders?"
Patricia smiled. "Hell yeah!" She jumped up and pulled a machete from her belt, twirling it around effortlessly. I stood up and touched the gun on my hip.
"Let's go." Ellen said. She and Jo headed out without another word. Jack turned to us.
"Be careful, the stuff out here is way more dangerous then on Earth." He left and we chased behind. We ran swiftly through the woods, the others seemed to know exactly where they were going. I had no idea where we were, the never-ending trees still confused me, but I felt like my feet had taken control and I was just dragged along for the ride. It wasn't long before we reached a small hill, a large hole was in the side of it. Cobwebs stretched out a good ten feet from the hill, making a sticky pathway to the black abyss of an entrance.
"Here we are, aranea kingdom." Jo said.
"It is open..." Ellen said breathlessly. Jack walked up to the entrance.
"They didn't open it. Not the monsters. There's something else that released them." He thought aloud.
"What would have done that?" I asked.
"Who knows, but who the hell cares? We need to get Kristyn and Dean and get out of here." Patricia said. She neared the opening, her horns got caught on some of the cobwebs and she frowned. I tucked my wings close to me and we went inside the black hole. I stepped cautiously, but a sudden scream stopped me, and the ground below me fell out. I collapsed and reached out, I managed to grab Patricia's horn, she hugged onto on of my wings. I felt someone else hug onto my other wing, I couldn't tell who it was. We seemed to fall for forever, then it stopped. We hit the ground and I got the wind knocked out of me.
"Ellen? Jo?" Jack whispered, his voice echoed through the darkness. We were met with silence.
"So, who do we have with us?" I asked myself. "There's me-- Cas--, Patricia, and Jack. We're missing two."
"I can't see!" Patricia hissed, ignoring us. She let go of me and moved away some. Jack let go, too, and I heard some shuffling. Suddenly, a small orange glow lit up near us. Jack smiled as he held up the lighter.
"We need a stick and a bunch of the spiderwebs, we can make a torch." He said quietly. "And we need to stay quiet, we aren't alone in this place." The lighter's flame disappeared and Jack lit it again. "Now, let's hurry."
I easily found a broken branch, big but not too heavy to carry, and handed it to Jack. Patricia pulled the webs from her horns and handed it over. Jack wrapped the cobwebs around the stick and held the lighter to it, it quickly caught aflame and we found ourselves basking in the light. we stood up and looked around. We were in a set of tunnels, a large hole above us-- where we fell from. The walls were a dark grey, turned white from the webbing that coated it.
"Well, we have three ways to walk. Which do we go for?" I asked.
"We could split up?" Jack suggested, shrugging.
"That's stupid, we'll get ourselves killed." Patricia retorted. "We're going this way."
She turned and went down the tunnel nearest to her, snatching the torch from Jack as she walked. We trailed behind her and just hoped that we wouldn't stumble across something we weren't ready for.
