Chapter 20

Y/N's POV:

I did my best to walk through the crowd of people.

Since camila was so small she passed by with ease. She was walking away fast and I was losing her

I tried my best to hurry out the dance floor to catch up to her. But once i finally made it out i lost sight of her

My eyes looked through the entire building but nothing

I went to the outdoor patio but still nothing.

"Dammit" i mumbled

"Hey y/n" i heard my name be called

I turned and saw Shawn

"Uh hey" i said "have you seen Camila?" I asked and he shook his head

"But do you mind if I talk to you?" Shawn asked leading me away from the crowd

"Uh sure" I said confused

He led us to the railing of the patio where there was a view of the city. I could feel the cold air hit my sweaty body

"What are you to Camila?" He asked confused

I looked at him just as confused "a friend?"

"That's bullshit, you guys seem close" he said "is there something between you guys?" He asked and I laughed

"If there was trust me you'd know" I said

"You like her tho?" He asked and I shrugged

"Y/n im her best friend she tells me things" he said

"Like What?" I asked

"Stuff. Look I'll be honest I thought you'd be some typical douche just trying to get at her, but you seem to truly care about her" he said and I looked down at the street

"Does it matter if I do? She has someone to do that for her" I said

"I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't give a fuck who she dates I just want her to be happy. Someone who can treat her the way she's meant to be treated. She's a treasure with a magnificent mind and the purest heart. I just don't want to see her get hurt" he said

"What does this have to do with me?" I asked confused

"I'm not gonna say much but she's miserable sometimes but when she talks about you she talks about you like you're some sort of god. Her eyes light up and she has a wide smile"

"Okay???!" I said confused but feeling happy on the inside

"What I want to say is that if you try making a move on her or try claiming her I'll be on board with it" he said

"Okay wasn't asking for permission" I said with a laugh

"I want to help. I'll try pushing her your way. Listen her guy-" he said then shaking his head "he's a dick and he doesn't sit right with me" he said making me grow concerned

"What do you mean? Is he an ass to her? Does he do anything-"

"No nothing bad, he's just strict as hell. The guy doesn't even let me around her a lot" Shawn said "and I've seen the way they argue and it's ugly" he said making me clench my jaw
