Y/N's POV:
Camila Cabello
Fuck her
I heard her name as Zane Lowe who was interviewing me said it, naming the songs on the current playlist he was playing
My mind went back remembering her and i cracked a smile but my heart clenched
"Y/n?" Zane said breaking me out of my daze
"Hmm?" I mumbled coming back from my zone
"You ready?" He asked and I nodded
He turned down the music he had playing for the Apple Music listeners and he began to speak
"Alright so today's guest is someone new on the scene. His father is very very well known and now he's finally taking a shot at releasing his own music, and I gotta tell you man, it's so good" he said enthusiastically
"Oh thank you I really appreciate that" I said with a smile.
I was really nervous. My hands were sweaty and I kept rubbing them on my jeans. This was my first real interview since releasing my music
"Y/n just released his album and let me tell you, it's honestly one of the best albums I've heard this year" he said
"Thank you" I mumbled
"So a few months ago you released your first single which was "Loving Is Easy" which was immediately a smash. Such a groovy catchy tune that people loved" he said "after that your second single "Super Rich Kids" which again was another success. Listening to these songs I was very curious and was expecting good things from your album and oh man you did not disappoint"
"Thanks" I said again with a smile
"So I want to talk about your album let's just dissect your mind for a bit"
"Let's do it" i said as my nerves were running all over
"What I love about you and what makes you stand out is that your songs are different, you don't stick to just one genre, in this album you can hear RnB, rap, a rock almost alternative sound, as well as Spanish" he said
"Now someone that has a father as legendary as Andre Y/LN's you must've obviously grown up with a heavy music influence right?"
"Oh yea definitely growing up I can't tell you the amount of artists I met and seen around my house, it was insane" i said "and well my parents always had music playing from all genres"
"So I read that you said that you didn't let your father help you at all with your album, why is that?" He asked
"Because this was my chance to show the world who I am. I didn't want people to look down on me and say "oh his father did everything for him" I wanted to show that I know what I'm doing. I had no big producers or song writers, i wrote every song myself, produced and played most of the instruments myself, my friend Oscar who is also an artist and his music crew helped me as well"
"Actually it's funny because I went to a few record labels trying to get signed I didn't tell them who my father was and just acted like some random guy and when I played my stuff for them they were very skeptical saying "they didn't know where to put me" and that "I was too different" I told them that's good, use that, I'm not making the same stuff other artists are making"
"How did you convince the label you're in now to sign you?" He asked
"I went to my friend Oscar's label, there's a lot of underground and underrated artists signed there and they like taking chances so I thought it was a good fit"
