He keeps a shield and helmet
When the day's spiraling eyes close,
Reality is a spacious dream
He is merely a human made of water, clay, and thin rubber
He feels safe today
He decides to remove the amor
Fight and defend another day
He laughs,
His smile is so genuine
So (sur)real
You can feel it
In the touch of his rosy cheeks
You never want it to change
Bang!
He shakes
He breaks
He has fallen to his feet
In disbelief
So unexpected
Not even anticipated
The blood violently rushes out
The emotions kick in
He lets it all out
You see the tears
The agony
He's sorry for not saying the things he truly wanted to say
I'm sorry for not coming to your aid
I truly wanted to save you,
But the bullet was in too deep
To do anything at all
