The first few classes went by with relative ease, and a strong breeze of boredom. By the time they were reaching last period, Kazuno had already forgotten her homeroom teacher's name and despite his loud and accented voice, even Present Mic's English lesson was beginning to become tiresome. Regardless, she took down notes avidly and did her best to participate in the class, raising her hand to answer questions and when the lunch break had come round, she wen around to personally introduce herself to other students.
Those from the business and general courses didn't seem very interesting, and she eagerly shuffled away from the support classes. A girl with pink hair and equally interesting eyes was being overly enthusiastic and affectionate to something in her hands it was kind of terrifying. So, she moved to the next table of people she knew.
Midoriya's table.
He sat with two other students, a girl with bouncy brown hair and a boy with blue hair and glasses. The trio looked positively bright and as she neared their discussion hesitation stopped her in her tracks. They were in the hero course, they were her competition. Was it even right to try and befriend them?
"Hey! Ikigai-" Midoriya's voice caused her head to snap upright and got her feet to move of their own accord towards the boy and his friends.
"Hello Midoriya, are these your friends?" She gestured to the two other students whose attention were solely on Kazuno's red hair and mismatched eyes.
"Yeah, this is Iida Tenya," the blue haired boy, "and this is Uraraka Ochako." That was the girl then.
"It is nice to meet the two of you, I am Ikigai Kazuno." She bowed for the two and when she faced upright again the boy, Iida, was also standing.
"Sorry for my intrusion, but your last name is incredibly interesting and extremely uncommon." He spoke, his hands waving in the air as he did so.
Though he wasn't explicitly asking a question, Kazuno knew she'd have to provide him with an explanation. "Yes, my father changed it to match his quirk, and so I am left with it as well. That and this eye." She raised a finger to her singular purple eye, it wasn't glowing like the other one, but it was still bright.
"Oh! Ikigai, you should tell them about your dads quirk," Midoriya piped up excitedly. "It's really cool, and so useful for a hero."
"Hm," she nodded. "My dad's quirk is visualisation. That means that if he can visualise a location, person, or object he can then see where it is," she explained with an air of enthusiasm.
"Isn't that incredible!" Midoriya practically squealed. "Its so useful for situations where people go missing, stuff gets stolen or even hostage cases. I bet he works a lot of the time with other pros and the police force." He looked at Kazuno with expectant eyes.
"It's also good for spying on people," she added with a bitter smile. "But, that was only when I was little and would run off, or when we'd play hide and seek. The cheat," she laughed. "And yeah, he is working a lot of the time."
"So, is that your quirk?" Uraraka asked with a pleasant smile. She was quite endearing.
"No, as cool as it would be. But I'd need two purple eyes for that, instead I've inherited and formed a mixture of my dad's quirk and my grandmothers. That's why this eye is green."
"Wait, we've seen that eye before," Midoriya placed a finger to his chin. "But, there's plenty of ways in which that can't be the case, after all you didn't inherit your mother's quirk. And, you both have a different last name. But that would make sense because it's your father's name..." he muttered to himself.
