I never intended for this short one-shot to keep going like this.

Love lots -AV

Scott heard the chime above the door sound and called out "one second" to the customer he was sure was waiting at the counter. He wiped his hands on the apron around his waist and made his way to the front of the shop.

The man was turned looking away from the counter, seemingly admiring the art on the walls. Nicole had helped him decorate by instilling murals around the shop. Even though Scott could only see the back of the man's head, he knew without a doubt who it was.

The shock caused to step backward, falling into the wall behind him. The man heard the commotion and turned immediately. Scott stared at him with wide, blue, glistening eyes. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing would come out. He ended up looking like a fish as his mouth gaped open and closed.

The brunette smiled widely, his brown eyes shining as tears made their appearance. It had been so long and he had dreamed of this moment for years. However, now that it was here he wasn't sure what to do.

They stared at each other for what seemed like ages before Scott finally spoke up.

"Wha-what are you doing here?" His voice cracked as he tried to control his emotions.
"I came to see you."
"But, how--why?"
"I missed you. And I just wanted to know what happened."

Scott took a moment to clear his head before speaking again. He nodded then, before making his way around the counter and flipping the sign to closed.

"Come on to the back and we can talk."

Mitch followed him, he had sang in front of thousands yet standing in front of his former lover he was more nervous than he ever remembered.

Scott wasn't entirely sure what he was going to say. He honestly thought that once he would see Mitch again that the brunette would either slap the living hell out of him or ignore him completely. He never expected for the man to show up at his bakery asking to talk.

Mitch took the seat that was offered him on the opposite side of the counter where Scott was seated. They stared at each other again. Mitch noticing the subtle laugh lines that were present by Scott's forever youthful eyes. Scott taking in the new tattoos and piercings that had accumulated over the few years they'd been apart.

Somehow Scott found the courage to speak up first.

"I heard your new song. It's really good."
"Thanks. Did you see the video?" Scott shook his head. "Do--do you mind if I show it to you?"
"Go ahead."

Mitch pulled the phone from his pocket and clicked on the youtube app before find the desired video. He then handed the phone over to Scott who took the object almost reverently. He clicked play and watched as the music began and a black screen appeared. White letters appearing on the background that had Scott gasping. Dedicated to SH.

The video played, a couple in college, having fun, living life. Then one of them disappears. However, instead of letting him go the other boy runs after him, chases him down, and holds him until he know he won't leave. Scott was sobbing by the end of it, ugly tears escaping his eyes as his sniffled. He looked up and met a set of brown orbs that reflected his own sadness.

"I should have went after you."
"No, you did the right thing. I could have lived with myself if you had given up your dreams because of me."
"But why did you leave me Scottie? I loved- hell I still do love you."
"You still love me?"
"I'll love you forever princess."

Scott couldn't help but smile at the old nickname. He didn't have a chance to say anything else before the sound of the door was opening. Kirsting walking through, "Scott, why is the closed sign up? Did you forget to switch it again?"

He didn't have a chance to respond before tiny footfalls came running to the back.

Maelynn jumped into her father's arms squealing with excitement.

"Daddy, unca Avi gave me a sodo."
"She means solo. I already asked." Kirstin called from the front of the shop. Completely unaware of the visitor in the back.
"That's great babygirl. I'm so proud of you."

Scott kissed his daughters cheek before meeting Mitch's eyes for the first time since the interruption. When he looked into the other man's eyes, he knew that Mitch was seeing what everyone else saw. The blue eyes that were undeniably Scott's but the dark brown locks and sharp nose that could only belong to a Grassi.
"Hey Mae, daddy wants you to meet someone. Say hi to Mr. Mitch." Maelynn turned in her daddy's arms to face the other brunette in the room.
"Hi Mr. Mitt."
Scott giggled, "we're working on the lisp."
"It's adorable. Hey Mae." Mitch offered a hand to the little girl who took it immediately.
"How you know my daddy?"
"Well, your daddy and I were friends a long time ago."
"Oh. Okay. Daddy, can I go ask aunt Kitty if she's taking the doggies to the park?"
Scott nodded and let his daughter down, "go ahead."

As soon as she was out of ear shot Mitch spoke up.

"She's mine." It wasn't a question.
"Yes, she is."
