The bus ride home was long, we were one of the lasts ones off. I'm just glad we weren't the very last. And now I've made three friends. Anything can be a first for someone.
Once I stepped off the bus behind Caine, my brother was there waiting for me with a smile on his face. " Well someone's in a good mood today," I said to Brady.
" You should be too ya know, so who's your boyfriend?"Brady asked still with that stupid smile.
Then Caine came up to Brady and shook his hand. " Its nice to meet you I'm Caine, I'm Camie's boyfriend." Caine said with a smirk on his face. I'm assuming he's trying to make Ray and James mad.
"Wait, who's boyfriend?" James and Ray said together. Their faces were red, I couldn't tell if it was from anger or embarrassment.
They were now in Caine's face. Caine held his arms up in the air with the smirk still on his face. " Hey you guys calm down. The little boy over there said it not me."
"Yah right liar!" James and Ray said in unison. That's the best I've heard them in perfect unison.
Brady was enjoying this, he's been laughing through all of it. I need to end this. " Look you guys no fighting," I started," Caine's just pulling your leg, so pipe down dogs." Brady stopped laughing. James and Ray walked up to me with worried looks on their faces.
"So he's not your boyfriend?" Ray asked.
" He's not my boyfriend. Brady was the one who said that and Caine took advantage of it." I explained.
" Who's Brady?" James asked.
" My ignorant little brother over there," I said while pointing at Brady.
Ray and James had shocked faces. That changed real fast though, they both ran to Brady. They grabbed his shoulders and started to shake him. Then they started to scream at him.
" How could you do this to us?" James asked.
" We're your sisters great friends and you brushed us to the side like trash." Ray said. Caine was getting a kick out of this. Man they're too much of a pain.
I walked up to them and separated them from Brady. I'm surprised Brady didn't puke. After he got his head together, Brady started laughing. "Man you sure make some weird friends Camillia, you guys are hilarious," Brady said.
" Whatever, come on let's go before I don't have time to come over to your house," I said annoyed.
" Alright," James and Ray sighed.
We walked all the way down the street to my house. Brady waltzed in our house, but I stopped. " Hey you guys hold up you'll have to come meet my parents before I can come over."
"What!?" They all said together.
"Look as much as I would love for you not to come into my house, my parents are not going to want me to go over to your house unless they know you." They had nervous looks on their faces. "Come on, there's nothing to be worried about," I said while trying to drag them to my door.
As soon as I walked through the door, my parents were there waiting. I should've known Brady wouldn't keep his mouth shut. " Hi dear, how was school?" Mom asked.
"Fine," I muttered as James,Ray,and Caine walked through the door.
" Who are your friends?" my dad asked.
"This is-" I was cut off by Caine, "Please to meet you, I'm Caine Collins." Caine shook my dad's hand.
"I'm Raynon Collins, but you may call me Ray."
" And I'm James Johnson!" The boys introduced themselves.
"James Johnson , your name's pretty simple wouldn't you agree?" my dad asked.
" Well sir my dad's a simple man," James explained.
" Welcome I'm glad my daughter has made some decent friends," my dad said.
" I'm going to put my backpack up, then we'll go, ok?" I said while starting up the stairs.
When I came down, the boys were having a conversation with my parents. They seem to be getting along well. " Ok let's go," I said with some enthusiasm.
" Where are you going?" dad asked sternly.
" They invited me over," I said flatly as I pointed towards the boys.
My dad was hesitant, but sighed,"All right go on, back be back before dinner and no funny business you hear?"
The boys faces got red. "Yes sir!" they replied together.
........................
" This house is too freakin huge!" I yelled as soon as I walked through the door.
"Well it's usually just us three but my parents come back after every business trip," Ray explained. Damn rich people, I thought.
"Grandma T, we're home and we brought a visiter!" Caine yelled. Grandma T ?
Right then a fifty one year old women came down the stairs. " Hi dears, who's your friend?" she asked. Her voice was sweet and soft.
" Hi I'm Camillia Bates, but these three call me Camie. I moved in from across the street yesterday." I explained.
" How wonderful. I'm Teresa, but you may call me grandma T.It's nice to meet you"
" It's nice to meet you too, but is it really ok to call you grandma T?" I asked.
" Of course dear," Teresa said.
"Yeah Camie everyone calls her that. Even me!" James said happily.
"Ok" I muttered.
For about two hours we talked and played video games till it was time to go home. Great timing dad I thought I almost beat the final boss. " You have to leave so soon?" Caine asked.
" Yeah can't you stay for a little longer?" Ray asked.
" Come on why not just stay the night here?" James asked.
Man what was up with all the questions. " Guys I'm sorry, but once my dad makes up his mind there's no stopping it."
" Also you need to ask your parents about coming over to my house after art club," James said.
Crap. I forgot about that. "I'll tell you at school tomorrow what they say."
" There's no need just call or text one of us," Ray said.
" I don't have your cell phone numbers, and also what's makes you so sure that I even have a cell phone?" I asked annoyed.
" Well do you have a cell phone?" Caine asked.
I sighed. "Yes I have a cell phone."
"Great I wrote down all three of our numbers," James said.
" Perfect," I said sarcastically. I started to walk out the door," See you later."
" Hold on!" I was stopped by Caine.
" What?" I asked.
"Aren't you going to give us your number?" he asked sweetly.
Geez what saps. " Sure whatever," I said as I wrote my number on a piece of paper. " There you go, put that number on top of your guys's list and never forget it. Now may I go before my dad calls the police?" I asked.
" Yes Bye see you tomorrow!" they all said as I walked to my house.
......................
I sat at the dining table eating steak with mashed potatoes, and corn. When I finished eating, I sat there and told my parents," I'm planning on joining an art club at school."
" That's great you're such a good artist!" my mom said excitingly.
" Yes this club can help you improve your skills," my dad stated. I was expecting more enthusiasm.
" Ray and James want to know if I can come over to James's house after art club on Friday," I said kind of low. But that didn't matter, dad still heard.
"I don't know neither of their parents, so how do I know you'll be safe?"
"Dad that's why they want me to come over. After art club we'll walk to James's house. Then we'll have Ray's parents meet us there, along with you." I said.
Dad hesitated before answering," I don't know his address. Or an idea of where he lives."
Geez he had excuses for everything. "Dad I have his address, he wrote it on the piece of paper on the counter. And he lives two blocks away from the school. Have anymore questions dad?" I asked.
Dad sighed with defeat. " Its alright with me if its ok with your mother." I looked at mom.
" It's fine with me, I can't wait to meet their parents!" With that I left to put up my plate, and went to my room.
I texted Ray saying that it was ok with them. He texted back one letter K. It was 8:45. I decided to go to the hidden door case that led to the roof. I looked at the woods. It was beautiful, I couldn't wait to explore it. But that had to wait whether I liked it or not. My parents don't want me to wander around and get lost as they put it. I have a better sense of direction then them.
I looked over at Ray's house. My eyes widened with fear. I realized that Ray's house was the one with the face in the window. I didn't see it now, and I was glad. Maybe their house was haunted. At least that's what I told myself. I shook my head and focused back towards the woods.I went back to my room after about an hour, and passed out on my bed.
