Ch.10 Tiress

" Finally I can relax!" I said plopping onto Ray's bed. We all were in his room, the gathering at James's house was long. The only one in his house was Grandma T. It was nice to see her again. Ray's parents left for a business trip.

When I saw Grandma T she smiled and hugged me, but then said something unexpected. She whispered into my ear," I'm sorry, you'll be fine, Ray and James will tell you everything they know." Now we were waiting on Ray and James to tell me about Tiress.

Ren sat beside me on the bed," Your house is huge!" she said excitingly. Ray and James looked at each other then sighed.

"I guess we should tell them now," James said.

" Yeah sure," Ray said.

"Tell us what?" Ren asked confused.

"Ren you see, Camie isn't a normal person," James started.

"Well we all aren't normal people," Ren said giggling.

" That's not what we meant,"Ray said. She got confused.

"Ren I have the power of a Tiress and I don't know what that is so those two were going to tell me tonight and since you came along they're going to explained it to you as well," I explained. She nodded. Ray sat at his computer desk, and James sat in some gamer chair.

" So far we know Camie sees things and hear things. Most would say she was insane but she's not. What she heard are the voices of the people or animals that were at that place at one point in time. Now what she sees are flashes of the people or animals. She sees and hears them because if she concentrates she can tell what happened at that certain area, almost like a movie being played out. She can also tell the future through her dreams, and by observing an person,place,or thing. She can also tell a persons emotion through looking at their eyes.So far that's all her abilities have progressed," James explained to Ren.

" Camie has this because she's the next Tiress," Ray started."The legend go's that one day, a beautiful young girl went strolling through the forest. She was considered the most beautiful girl in the land. She stopped at a stream to wash her face. While she washed her face, an old evil witch saw her and became jealous.

The witch came up to the girl and asked,' My you're so pretty what's your name dear?' The young girl looked up at her and smiled,' I'm Tiress.' ounce the witch knew her name she grew a twisted smile. ' Tiress I would like to give you something, would you please follow me?' Tiress being oblivious to the witches plan followed her willingly.

The witch took her to her cottage and asked Tiress to sit down and wait. Tiress waited patiently. The witch came back with a slice of apple pie. 'Can you tell me how good it tastes?' the witch asked. ' I would be honored,' Tiress said. As she took a bite the witch howled with laughter.

Tiress got down on her hands and knees because of the pain. ' No one will think you're the prettiest in the land if you have special powers. They'll think you're a witch!' the witch cried. Tiress was on the ground, and could feel power swarming through her. After a minute it stopped and she got off the floor. ' I don't think your potion worked,' Tiress said to the witch,' I don't feel any different.'

And with that she walked away, but the witch still had that twisted smile. Tiress went back home to find that everyone was afraid if her. ' What's wrong?' she asked. She could hear the whispers through out the crowd of people. ' She's been cursed' ' How did we ever think she was pretty' ' She needs to leave before we're all cursed'

She came to her house but her family stood still with fear. ' Tiress you have to leave now' her father said. ' But where would I go?' she asked. ' It doesn't matter but you'll endanger us all with your curse' her mom stated.

Tiress left and ran to the stream from earlier. ' What've I done wrong?' she asked herself tears streaming down her face. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and saw a symbol on her stomach. She looked and saw that it was the form of a sun. Her eyes widened with fear.

She heard laughter and turned to see the witch. ' What've I done to deserve this? I was banished from my home and have no where to go,' Tiress said sadly. The witch looked amused,' That symbol resembles the sun, the energy that gives us light and strength. I've cursed you and further generations of a young girl to carry the burden of that power, whether it's for good or evil.'

So over the years it turned from the power of the sun to the power of a Tiress. And after Tiress died a new girl was born with that power, and after she died a new one was born, and so on. The power was passed down to a new girl all over the world. Some were considered gods in the people's eyes others were called witches or sorcerers. So now the people call the symbol a birth mark, and don't think about it as a curse." Ray finally finished the legend.

Ren looked shocked and my eyes were wide from the information I had absorbed. The boys waited patiently for us to soak it in. " So what you're saying is that Camie has some weird ability and is the next Tiress?" Ren asked. They nodded. " And that she has this power because of some old legend?" They nodded their heads again.

" This is a joke right?" Ren asked hopefully.

" No joke," James said.

"It's the truth," Ray said looking over at me.

"I know it's hard to believe but it's true," I said looking at Ren. I already absorbed it in.

"Wow," was all she said. " Can you prove it?" Ren asked.

"Why would she need to prove it?!" Ray asked angrily.

"Isn't our word enough!?" James asked.

I sighed,"You want prof I have it." She looked over at me. I lifted my shirt up to reveal the Sun birth mark. Ren gasped, and Ray and James faces turned beet red. I put my shirt down and the boys faces turned to their normal color.

" There's your prof," I said trying to resist the tears.

"How come you never told us about that before?"James asked. Ray sat there silently waiting for me to answer. I just sat there.

Then Ren chimed in," Is it because of 'that day'?" Ren asked. I nodded and burst into tears. She nodded understandingly and the guys sat there confused. I stopped the tears for now and decided to tell them.

" I have something I should've told you guys when I met you," I started.

"Are you sure? Are you ready to tell us? You don't have to rush this," Ren asked.

I nodded. " I need to tell you guys this now."
