I sipped my coffee as Riley babbled on about how the cute dress she had had her eyes on was 50% PERCENT OFF! I looked over at Riley. She looked so adorable, especially today. Her dark brown hair trailed along her shoulders and her big brown eyes poured into my heart. Moments like these made me want to spill everything, but I knew I couldn't. It was just too risky.

"Hey Riley!" My mom called, waving. I groaned. I don't know why Riley made us repeatedly come to Topanga's. We had to see my mom every second of every day. She always ignored me, but she loved Riley as if she were her daughter and I was a disappointment. After all, I'd told her I liked girls, but I didn't tell her which girl.

"Hi Katie!" Riley called as my mom walked over.

"How's high school treating you, honey?" She asked while taking our empty plates.

Riley's face drained of color. "Fine."

"Something wrong?"

"No, I'm just tired." She added a yawn at the end, obviously fake.

"C'mon, I'll walk you home." I sighed, handing my glass to my mom as Riley sprang up from her seat. Yep, she was totally exhausted.

As soon as we were far enough from the restaurant, I smacked her shoulder.

"Ow!" She shouted, smacking me back. "What?"

"What the heck's the matter with you? What's going on?"

"Nothing." Riley replied quickly. I rolled my eyes.

"I see right through that lie." I answered.

She shrugged. "Can't see something that's not there."

"Puh-lease," I groaned. Then, I decided, "Bay window. Bay window right now."

I pulled her along as I ran to her house. We climbed right through the window and sat there, in the area I had been so many times.

"Tell me," I demanded sternly.

Riley sighed. Then, she said softly, "Life's just changing."

I said quietly, "Well, yeah. I mean, next year's college. I'm going to art school-"

"And I'm going to study to be a psychologist," Riley finished.

I took her hand in mine. "And you're going to do great. Who knows, maybe you can have your appointments in the bay window? I'd be your first customer! I'm a broken mess."

She laughed. "Yeah, but you're my broken mess, Peaches. And I'm here to stay."

"I know. Even college can't separate us."

"Nothing can," Riley replied, smiling. She leaned into me as I wrapped my arm around her. I closed my eyes in delight. I loved this girl, and she loved me too. But the problem was she loved me like a sister. But I loved her as something more.

So that was really freaking cute! More Rilaya to come and more drama too! Love y'all!
