"Maya," Shawn said. My eyes widened.
"Hi, Shawn." I said quietly.
"Maya, I'm so sorry for everything. I should've stopped your mother. I should've kept you in the house."
I shrugged.
"Maya, please listen to me. I broke up with your mother."
"Wait, what?"
"Anyone who would ditch someone over something so small is not someone I can love. You are the person I love. You are my daughter."
"This is so cliche." I said, breaking the tension. He ignored me.
"Maya, I got a house. I want you to come live with me."
I gasped. My father actually loved me. But I wasn't happy.
I don't think I could ever truly be happy again.
