That night, I was left alone in my room as always. Shawn and my mom had gone out, and I hoped I'd be asleep by the time they got home. I wasn't sure if I wasn't or my mom yelling my name woke me up, but either way, I knew they were home.

"MAYA! WE NEED TO TALK!" She screamed. I groaned, stumbling out of bed and down the stairs.

"Pack your things. You're leaving." She told me, shoving a suitcase towards me.

"What do you mean?" I questioned, suddenly wide awake.

"I can't come home every day knowing a-" She took a moment to gasp in disgust, "LESBIAN is in my house! So you're leaving."

"But I have nowhere to go!" I argued.

"I don't care. Get out!" She screeched.

"Shawn?" I pleaded softly, looking to see my tear-stained father.

"I'm sorry, Maya," he whispered, "I'm sorry."

I raced upstairs sobbing, throwing everything into my bag. Not that that was a lot. I ran outside without a single goodbye and ran as far as I could. I soon became exhausted and settled onto the road. This was going to be my home for a while.

-

I woke up to a shaking.

"Wha-where am-" Then it came back to me. I was currently homeless.

"Maya?" Farkle said softly.

"Farkle?"

"Maya, what are you doing out here?" He asked, helping me up. I took a moment to crack my back, releasing my stress and pain from laying on the cold hard ground. No Taylor Swift pun intended.

I shrugged, taking a brush out of my bag and beginning to comb my hair.

"Maya." He repeated, turning me to face him. I looked into his caring eyes and lost it. I let it all out.

"Oh, Maya," He whispered, pulling me into a hug. "It's okay, it's okay. I'm here."

He let go of me for a moment to grab my suitcase. "Come on."

"What?" I asked, confused.

"You're not living out here on the freaking streets. Come, you're moving in with me for a while."

So, what do you think of it so far?
