Farkle's parents were very understanding. They signed me up for online school and left me be. After only a few days, I was calling his parents my own.
I heard a knocking from my guest room.
"Yeah, Farkle?" I called, not looking up from my phone. I knew he had just returned from school.
"Can I come in?"
"Yeah."
He opened the door and sat down at the foot of my bed. He breathed in, then said, "Riley wants to know where you are."
"No way." I quickly said, returning to my phone. Farkle sighed and grabbed my phone out of my hands.
"Hey!" I screamed, throwing a pillow at him. He didn't even notice. Using his height as an advantage, he placed it on a higher shelf.
"You're violating human rights," I told him.
"How so?"
"Because I'm small so I can't reach."
"That's the point," he chuckled. He returned. "You can't live without can you?"
"Just give it back."
"Then come with me to Riley's."
"No!" I screamed, throwing myself against my bed.
"Why not?" He asked soothingly, caressing my hair.
"Because," I sobbed. "She can't know that I love her."
"Then why don't you tell her that you're lesbian, but not that you like her?"
"I'm not ready to," I whispered.
"And why not?"
I picked my head up and replied sarcastically, "Oh, I dunno, Dr. Phil."
He rolled his eyes and suddenly, he grew understanding, "You're scared she's going to leave you..aren't you?"
I didn't answer with words, but my glossy eyes did all the talking. He wrapped his arms around me and whispered soothing nothings into my ear.
"She'd never leave you." He finally said.
"You can't guarantee it!" I cried.
"Yes I can." Farkle replied sternly.
I sighed. "I don't want to."
Farkle shook his head, "I'm giving you a week. Utilize it."
Hey!
