A great interview with a screaming writer on Wattpad sssilentscreamsss, all of her books are lit🔥 If you guys are interested in layered stories with endless thrill, her account is the place for you.

So let's get to it!

■|■

#1|How did you discover Wattpad?

sssilentscreamsss|I discovered Wattpad through an old high school friend. She was having those good grades in English and I asked her how she did that, so she told me she read a lot of books. I told her that I didn't find that interesting so she showed me this app (Wattpad). I started reading a week later and then couldn't stop. My English was so bad before but then I improved it drastically, my note changing from a 3 to an 8.

#2|What inspired you to write?

sssilentscreamsss|I used to write stories on this other website in Dutch and that was really loved by people. I was around fourteen when I did that. When I was reading on Wattpad I just got these random ideas for stories and they were flying through my mind the whole time, till I heard Mohammed Zeyara say in one of his videos something along like 'if you can write, write, but do something'. Thats when I realized I wanted to inspire muslim girls with my writing.

#3|Your favourite book(s) of all time?

sssilentscreamsss|Obviously the Qur'an, which I always cry about when I read the translation. But the question is kind of hard because for some reason I don't read a lot anymore and I can't remember books I have read. I do love this Turkish book 'secdede son nefes' a lot and 'reclaim your heart' by Yasmin Mogahed. Also, 'love of Allah: experience the beauty of salah' is one of my faves.

#4|How was your starting as a writer?

sssilentscreamsss|I started with 13 followers lol! I remember writing everything on my new laptop and going with just a picture I found on the internet as a cover,so then this sweet girl made me a cover and sent it to me randomly. I remember that my story got known quickly because it was posted at the right time. 2014 was really a small group of Muslim girls on Wattpad so it was easy to get your story known if you played it right. I got a lot of criticism about my grammar at the beginning.

#5|Were there any odds stopping you from the writer that you are now?

sssilentscreamsss|Yes, it was especially my attitude. My story got known pretty quickly and I am confident enough to say whats up and how to write correctly. That started to turn into this arrogant attitude and I started to look down on people who werent really able to write or who would copy/make things cliche. I always believe that your attitude in your work makes it or good or bad. From then on, with my second book, my reads started to decrease, but then when I realized this, after a long time, that I really [need to] change my attitude and my opinion on things,[and then] it started to get better and I started to enjoy writing again.

#6|Among your books, what is your favourite?

sssilentscreamsss|I think it is Broken Blue Balloons, I really like the whole idea and dont feel restricted writing that one.

#7|Is writing your hobby or (dream) profession?

sssilentscreamsss|No, its just a hobby. I have some plans to apply writing into my future career though.

#8|How do you deal with Writer blocks and hate comments?

sssilentscreamsss|See with writers block its just that you cant do much about it. You cant randomly sit down and write; you just have to wait till that phase is over. I just dont stress about it anymore and just write when I know I am the most creative. And for the hate comments, I most of the time reply to them because I cant ignore lol, and then after a while I delete and block the people, forgetting about it.

#9|In your time writing on Wattpad,is there any unforgettable moment that you feel want to share?

sssilentscreamsss|There are so many. I could never forget the nicest comments I got, especially when people were thinking deeper than I did. I could never forget non-muslims reaching out to me, wanting to learn more about Islam. I could never forget muslim girls starting to pray. Or the longest duas I received. But something thats still in the back of my mind is when a girl stole my story and put it out there, receiving a lot of views etc. I felt really angry and vulnerable at that moment, not knowing how I was going to take it down but I talked with her and she deleted it.

#10|If you feel alone, what do you do?

sssilentscreamsss|I most of the time journal, that way I can reflect on what I am feeling and talk to my Creator. I also like to bake, sit in my room and spend some me time with myself, so I could just recharge.

#11|As a writer, what have you learnt so far?

sssilentscreamsss|That your imagination is infinite, if only you know how to use it. People get inspired by your words, by fictional characters and the things you say are important to them, so sometimes they learn from it and save it in their minds. You have a voice and you are speaking up and I feel like as a writer, you can easily entertain people while teaching them lessons. I really enjoyed doing that.

#12|Would you publish a PaperWork in future?

sssilentscreamsss|I have some goals I want to chase, but I wouldn't want to publish the stories I have on Wattpad. I dont know why, I just feel like they are not completely done and I wouldnt want to edit them, since I wrote them at certain ages and I dont want to ruin that. But I have some goals to publish things related to my major.

#13|Your favourite reader? Don't be afraid to share, they don't know we're doing this interview XD

sssilentscreamsss|Ooh thats a tough one. I dont think I could ever name just one person. Every book had different special readers and I still remember who from 4 years ago. Each and every time there are several people. I kinda miss the people from 4 years ago, I feel like they went on with their lives and I am still stuck on the same page.

#14|How has Wattpad impacted your life?

sssilentscreamsss|it has changed me completely. I became more observant, especially with judging things from different perspectives. I would take meanings from small things, or when a situation happened I would reflect how I would incorporate that into stories. A lot of small details of my stories are actually based on my real life. I like to reflect on my life through writing.

#15|Your advice to the beginners on Wattpad?

sssilentscreamsss|To only write if writing is your passion, without thinking of the fame it could get you. Only then you can really succeed.

#16|Finally,what do you think I should do to improve my interviews?

sssilentscreamsss|Literally nothing, lol! You asked really good questions, unique ones, though maybe for future interviews that you ask more about plot thoughts and behind the scenes things, that would be fun to know from writers.
