Dan's P.O.V

I kept kicking myself for letting the girl I love walk back home all by herself. What was I thinking? She could be in danger!

I pulled myself together and then proceeded to make my way down the dusty street rather quickly. Hoping I would catch up with her.

In the distance I heard her drawing voice that was gently whispering along to a recognizable tune. I believe it was my song that I had written down in my diary, it’s called 'Get Home.'

I know it’s a bit cliché her singing this but it was really sweet; her voice was so divine and meaningful you could feel her emotion as she sang.

I crept up slowly behind her and listened to her voice.

We are the last people standing,

At the end of the night

We are the greatest pretenders

In the cold warming light

Lola's P.O.V

I had been singing along to one of Dan's song that I saw in his diary. I was just trying to picture the lyrics in my head. I took a deep breath as I wasn't able to remember the next line of the verse until a beautiful voice finished it off.

This is just another night

And we have many of them

To the morning we cast out

But I know I'll land here again

I stopped and turned around. There before me was Dan, standing in the middle of the path with his red converse on, black jeans, a woolly jumper and a thick multi-coloured scarf. Looking quite emotional.

"Dan!" I cried. Getting a bit of a surprise to see him here.

He didn't say anything he just opened his arms and wrapped me in them. I nuzzled my head onto the creak in his neck and enjoyed his company whilst it lasted.

Then it struck me. What am I doing? How can I trust Dan?

I began to let the tears cascade down his jumper.

"Shhh, it's alright. I'm here and I always will be. I promise I didn't know Ralph was like that. I promise that I had nothing to do with Ralph's plans." Dan said swaying me ever so slightly to stop me from crying.

I took a deep breath and parted slightly from him. Glaring into his eyes. "Do you truly promise?" I said not taking my focus away from him as I tried my hardest to read the trust in his eyes.

"I promise Lola." Dan said as he stuck his pinkie finger out for me to hold.

I stopped and breathed. "Ok then, I believe you but for me to know that I can trust you will have to leave me for a while. I want to make sure that this isn't a plan of yours. I want to gain my trust back in you but I feel that needs some time. Please do what I say. I'll be fine to walk back as long as you walk back your separate way." And with that I turned away from the man of my dreams.
