Drawing Voices

The News in Chapter One

 "Hangman" headlines the local newspaper. It had been three days since Max "hung himself" that an old man walking his dog found his body  the police have confirmed it was a suicidal attempt. 

Part of me feels a little bit guilty because at the end of the day, Max has lost his life and I’m sure there must be someone who cared for him, what about his children?

The last few days have still been quite hard to get through, as I have had visions about  his children and how they are now going to grow up without a Dad, but Dan will remind me that it was either him or us all, which does sound a little selfish but not so selfish when you put it in the fraction 1/3.

I feel like what happened with us was meant to happen for a reason and is just another chapter in my life. Dan still isn't as friendly with Ralph as there is a lack of trust but I know and sense there is a yawn of forgiveness waiting to come out of his mouth.

Dan's P.O.V

I felt it was unfair for us to be stuck inside this evening. I was sitting cuddled up with Lola on the sofa as Kyle was making us a pizza sandwich (one of his specialities- don't ask) when I looked out of the window. The sun was beginning to set.

I sprung up onto my feet and grabbed my jumper

"Where are you going?" Lola asked rather surprised at my spontenious action.

"Taking you our somewhere special." I replied.

Lola's P.O.V

Dan decided he was going to take me out. I soon realised exactly where we are going when we approached the small road that lead to the woods.

"The woods isn't somewhere special" I said, my excitement beginning to disappear.

"No, but wait and see." Dan said as he grabbed my hand and squeezed it tighter pushing me on to walk a bit faster.

We kept walking through the woods and Dan gave no time for me to stop and have a look at the police tape that surrounded the tree, he knew it would make me upset. So he picked me up in a piggy back style and carried me to the end of the woods where it opened up to the river. It was really pretty and we made it just in time before the sun disappeared behind the distant hills.

I smiled and Dan leant in for a kiss. His delicate lips touched mine and his hands ran through my hair sending me flying over the hilltops towards the sun.

"Wow" I whispered.

Before I had a chance to say any more Dan got down on one knee and brought out an elegant diamond ring from his jumper.

"Will you marry me Lola?"

Clapping noices spun around in my head. I was so happy; tears began to flow down my eyes. "YES Dan!" I squealed with joy.

What happened next was even more unexpected. Family and friends appeared from behind the trees. Drawing Clapping noises drew near and tens of grinning faces widened. So it wasn't noises in my head. Dan had planned this all for me. I was the happiest girl in the world right now.

"I wanted to make the woods a special place to go. Erase the bad blood that has happened in here." Dan cried alongside with me.

I have a new story, one in which i hope to spend more time on and perfect the quality not the quantity. I have the first chapter up, just so you can get the idea behind it. Thank you. This maybe the end....
