Sure enough, Mello gave no indication that he remembered what had happened between us. I was definitely in a time loop, I knew that hadn't just been a dream. Either that or he was just being an asshole, which considering it's Mello, was also possible.

He seemed tired today (this today) and quiet. I turned to ask if he hadn't slept well and saw he'd fallen asleep on the couch. I got up and found a blanket to cover him up. I tucked him in and knelt beside the couch, staring at him. He was so damn beautiful. I sighed and placed a tiny kiss on his forehead.

"Sleep well," I said quietly.

"You really care about him," I jumped, I'd completely forgotten Matt was there.

I turned to face him, blushing scarlet as he smiled.

"It's nice, you should tell him."

I pretended to go back to work but I was actually thinking about this time thing. I wanted to ask someone about it, and Matt seemed like a good person to ask. He was more likely to take it seriously, Mello would probably just write it off as nonsense. Matt would possibly have some interest in it too, with all the gaming and Sci fi stuff he was into. And of course he was a genius. I could ask some hypothetical questions to feel him out and go from there.

"Matt, can I talk to you about something? Somewhere else so as not to wake sleeping beauty?" I nodded towards Mello.

"Sure, come to my room."

I got up and followed him. We sat on the bed and I considered how to start.

"Um ok, so I was reading a time loop manga and I wondered what you thought of that stuff, like do you think it could be real?"

He nodded, looking serious and I knew I'd picked the right person to ask.

"I believe anything is possible. Firstly, which manga was it?"

"There were a few but All You Need Is Kill was good. The art is by Takeshi Obata."

"Oh I hear he draws good looking guys," Matt commented. [RIP fourth wall]

"Yeah he does, sometimes. Anyway, how do you think someone would get themselves out of a time loop?"

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, like an old man.

"I guess it would depend on what the catalyst, ie cause was. You'd have to figure that out and then try to change things to stop that from happening."

I'd already thought about this and it seemed it had happened when I wrote in the Death Note, when I fell asleep, and when Mello died.

"Could there be multiple catalysts?"

" I don't know."

The door opened just then and Mello looked at us with a look of confusion, hurt and anger.

"Matt, what the fuck!" He yelled.

"We were just talking."

"Yeah right!" He yelled and stormed off.

"Mello, we were just talking!" Matt shouted after him just before we heard the front door slam.

"What was that about?" I asked.

"I'm guessing he thinks we were fucking or something."

"Well obviously we're not and why would he care anyway?"

"Because he likes you," He picked up his phone and tried to call him. "He's not answering, you try."

I called and it rang out till I got his voicemail.

"Mello, please come back. Nothing happened, I had some questions about Sci fi and didn't want to wake you by talking. I like you. Please, just come back."

He called back a minute later.

"Do you mean it?"

"Yes! I'm waiting for you."

"I'll be right back."

I met him at the front door and we fell into each other's arms.

"I got jealous. I like you,"He said as he kissed my hair.

I pulled him inside the apartment and we fell onto the couch together and started making out.

"I like you, Mello, don't leave me."

I knew time would reverse again, but in this moment, Mello was mine and that was all that mattered.
