I was busy working the following day. Same old, same old. Mello had died again, or I'd dreamt he died again, whichever. All I knew was that I was here now. Whether as I'd been here before or not, I just had to do my best while in the moment.
"Mells, I've made a list of things that could go wrong," I handed him the list and he frowned at it.
"Nothing I do ever goes wrong. How dare you assume -"
"Mello!" I interrupted him. "Just read it and beware. You're not invincible, you're not one of Matt's video game characters. I just want you to be prepared."
He stared at me for a minute before nodding, "Ok, thanks," He said quietly.
I knew he had too much pride to admit he could ever be wrong, so it was a big deal that he was even considering my list. I hadn't thought that far ahead, I'd kind of forgotten how stubborn he could be.
"Uh, Y/N?"
"Hmm?"
"You're totally staring at me," He blushed slightly as I snapped out of it.
"Sorry," was all I could manage to say as I turned back to my files.
*Timeskip brought to you by my apparent ability to run in this fic*
This time I got to him with seconds to spare and hauled him out of the truck.
"What the hell are you doing?!" He yelled.
"Get out, get out!" I yelled back as my sudden superhuman strength pulled him off the seat and through the door.
I grabbed his gun while he was confused (yes, I had to reach down the front of his pants to get it, the sacrifices I make) then I ran to open the back door and shoot that bitch.
"Y/N, that's not according to plan -"
"Screw your plan!"
I grabbed his hand and pulled him after me. I didnt know if the church would still go on fire but I wasn't taking any chances.
"We did it!" I shrieked and leapt into Mello's arms.
He made a 'what the fuck' face.
I almost screamed "I love you" but managed to stop myself.
