The news sunk in. "Oh Pink", Turquoise said burying her face in her hands. "At least you're a kind person", she said smiling through her tears, "Glad to see her good nature will live on". "If it means anything at all I'd rather be with you than to be stuck with the diamonds". "Wait I have a question", Steven said loudly, "If Pearl is your pearl, how is she my mom's pearl". "Oh that", she smiling at Steven's curiosity, "She is mine but she spent more time with Pink". "We ended up in a way sharing her", she continued, "Pink's pearl was too like her", she said rubbing her eyes, "She wanted defiance, something Pearl clearly has". "But I needed compliance", she continued, "So while Pearl spent time with Pink hers spent time with me". "Oh".

"What're we gonna do about the corrupted gems", Garnet broke the silence, "We know her voice is key but I doubt its that simple". "I don't know", Turquoise said blankly, " not emotionally attached to all of them".
"Maybe if we amplify it", Pearl said thoughtfully, "There's something we're missing". "Maybe we have to sing together", Steven suggested, "Mom was all about sticking together and stuff". "That's ridiculous and solely based on hope that I'll even agree in the first place", Turquoise said, "That sounds perfect".

They were in the bubble room careful not to allow the gems from reforming. The gems were on the floor and all over the place. At least the corrupted gems. "This is ridiculous", Pearl said setting up the amps, "This can't possibly work". "Which is exactly why she would want to do it", she said. Jasper was in the shadows trying not to get involved. "C'mon Jasper we all have to help", Turquoise coaxed. "Singing is not my thing believe me", Jasper said shrinking back, "I'll just watch". "No you won't", Turquoise said firmly, "We need all the help we can get". Jasper kept shaking her head violently, "No I won't". "Yes you will". "Won't". "Will". "Won't". "Wil-". "Will the both of you shut up", Lapis said, she and Peridot had come to help them, "That isn't going to do us any good". They both scowled at each other. "Do you even know what we're going to sing", Pearl said fumbling with a particularly defiant cord. Turquoise stopped short and cocked her head, "No actually", she said shrugging, "Thought it would just come naturally". The whole group stopped. "You're not prepared", Garnet said locking her gaze on Turquoise. "No -yes ugh", she stuttered, "I'm not good at this stuff ok". Garnet nodded, "I see. Then there's no point in being here our hearts are clearly not in it". They murmured their agreement. "But how do we cure them", Steven asked. "I don't know...yet but we'll figure something out". There was a collective sigh as they went back to the living room. Jasper slunk outside but no one noticed, except Turquoise. What is she up to?, she thought before following her outside.
