"Ah, here we go." I bent down to retrieve the key from underneath our 'Welcome' mat.
Cliché right? Yea I know.
"It's still there? Even after all theses years eh?" She nudged.
"Well yeh, its mum's idea ha."
I unlocked the door, looking around to see if any one was here. I mean after all, the car's are here.
"Hello?" I raised my voice so it'd echo through out the house.
I head shuffling from upstairs.
Mum must be home.
"Mum?" I called out.
Soon enough I seen her coming downstairs dressed.
"Calum? I wasn't expecting you here til later on today."
"Yea, Michael had plans this morning, so I decided to get Melody and hang out."
"Oh gee. Melody dear, where are you?"
I turned around to find her behind me, just smiling.
"I'm right here Mrs.Hood, Calum here, is towering over me like the Eiffel Tower here." She giggled.
"Oh Calum sweetie, make room for Melody will you?"
I nodded and moved aside so Mel can go to my mum.
"How are you today?" She asked.
"Oh I'm alright, just a bit tired that is" Melody glanced back and shot me a look.
"Do you two want breakfast?" Mum asked.
"Uh no mum, were actually going to Ihop, just wanted to stop by and get my Jeep."
"Okay, well will you be here for dinner tonight?"
I looked over at Melody to see if she wanted me at her place again.
"Uhm, actually... Y-y-yea. Of course mum."
"How about you Melody? Or are your parents expecting you home tonight?"
"Actually their not there. Their in the states closing a deal."
"How long have they been gone?"
"About two, three days maybe?"
A fallen look fell on mum's face. I knew shw felt so bad for Mel.
"Well please Melody, you can come over here for dinner til they get back, or just hang out. I know its got to be lonely in that house of yours."
"Oh but Mrs. Hood only if it isnt an inconvinet to you, or to Calum here I-"
"None sense, Melody your always welcomed here."
I looked at Mel, who was already looking back at me, and I gave her a warm smile and nod.
She stepped forward and gave my mum a hug, "Thank you."
