Christopher's POV

We all were dumbfounded after Azalea ran out of the room. I never thought she was the type to run away after seeing blood. I thought she was stronger than that. I could automatically tell my mother was disappointed in her.

“What kind of girl is that? Running away while her future father is suffering? Does she have any sense of duty or responsibility?”

“Let it go mother.” I gritted.

My mother sighed and continued helping the servant tend to my father. I retrieved some water to clean up the blood my father coughed up. Is that really the kind of girl Azalea was? I felt a little disappointed myself.

I spoke too soon though, because a few moments later, we heard yelling and the door burst open. Azalea came in, followed by the twins, with two flowers in her hand.

“Azalea, where were-?” She cut me off.

Her silver eyes shined with focus and concentration. She ordered the servant to fetch two bowls, water, a grinder, and a spoon.

After receiving all she asked for, she washed the flower in one of the bowls, and then plucked the flower petals into the other small bowl. She started grinding the petals up, poured some water into the small bowl, and mixed it for a minute or so. She walked over to my father, and despite my mother’s protests, Azalea poured the mixture down my father’s throat. My father choked a little, but then his body relaxed. He looked into at Azalea’s eyes for a moment and smiled at her before falling asleep.

“What did you give him?” My mother demanded.

Azalea shushed her before answering her question. This surprised everyone since no one but my father or me can ever shush my mother.

“I gave him an herbal remedy from a flower called Papaver somniferum that relieves pain for a while. Since he was suffering so badly, I decided it would be best if he took some of the tonic.” She paused.

My mother was about to open her mouth again, but before she did, Azalea had the last word.

“I understand this is a hard time for you. I will take my leave today and if you ever request me, please do so.”

She curtsied and walked out of the room with the twins following her. I looked at my mother, still shocked.

“This is the kind of girl she is mother.”

I walked out of the room also, leaving my mother and the servant alone with my sleeping father.

Azalea was leaning against the wall, with each of the twins holding her hands. I walked over to her and when she realized I was there she looked at me with her big silver eyes.

“I am so sorry! I cannot believe I just spoke to your mother in that tone! I should go apologize to her.”

I held up my hand.

“All is well. You have helped my father with his pain, something none of us know how to do.”

She sighed. I looked at the twins.

“I see you have met my younger brother and sister.”

“Yes, but I am afraid I still do not know their names.” She smiled at them.

My sister automatically brightened up, let go of Azalea’s hand to stand in front of her, and introduced herself.

“My name is Regina Clara Williams. This is my twin brother, Henry Elliot Williams. We are very pleased meet you.” She curtsied.

Azalea smiled happily at them both.

            “You both have beautiful names.”

“Regina? I don’t think my name isn’t that beautiful. I was named after my aunt, but I do not like her that much.”

“Regina.” I looked at her with a stern look.

“I wasn’t talking about that.” Azalea continued. “I think Clara is a beautiful name.”

            “Really?” Regina grinned.

“Would it be alright if I called you Clara from now on?”

Regina jumped with glee as Azalea switched to Henry who looked left out of the excitement.

“I also think Elliot is a handsome name for a handsome man like you. Would it be alright if I called you Elliot?”

For the first time in a week, Henry smiled.

“We still don’t know who you are. Chris, who is she?”

I held Azalea’s hand in mine.

“She is my betrothed and your future sister.”

“When are you getting married?” Regina asked.

            “A week.”

“A week?” Azalea looked at me with confusion. “But, in Pyrus-”

“I know that in Pyrus, you cannot be married until you turn eighteen, but you forget that you are getting married in Cardinia. In Cardinia, you can get married at fifteen.”

            “So that means-”

I let out a small chuckle.

“In one week, you are going to be mine forever.”
