It's been about 2 weeks since Matt and I's first meeting, I have to admit that I've been getting really close to him and used to having him around a few days through the week in the morning to go out for coffee trying to get to know each other. I mean it is summer and I have nothing better to do besides I'm really proud of my self by opening up to him but I still have my doubts to fully break down my walls for him. This afternoon going downstairs wearing my usual lazy day attire to sit on the couch and watch TV.
"Hey Emma, want some coffee?" my aunt asks as soon as she walks downstairs.
"Yes please" I mean there is no rule telling me I can't drink coffee in the afternoon.
"Here you go" she gives me the cup a couple of minutes later I take a sip of the coffee before putting it on the coffee table in front me. I absolutely love her coffee I sometimes like it more than the ones at the coffee house.
"How's Matt, aren't you going to hang out today?" she walks over to the couch with her own cup joining me. I can tell my aunt really likes Matt and I don't blame her, so do I.
"Good and today he has other plans so we are skipping the coffee and I decided to make it a lazy day today"
"That's good, and I'm glad you've found someone that makes you happy" I blush at her comment not denying it, she was right for the past two weeks I've been the happiest I've been in a long time. Most of the time I don't notice how happy he makes me until Rachel, Sophia or even Mark points it out. But I've been selfish he's given me the chance to know who he is while I haven't completely.
"Rachel can I ask you something" I turn so that I face Rachel, even though I'm not close to my aunt I really need her help and since my mom isn't here I need the next best mother figure I have in my life who I appreciate with all my heart.
"Yeah" she turns to face me as well and puts her coffee on the table.
"How do I know if I can trust someone?"
"By someone you mean Matt... are you going to tell him about..." I cut her off before she can finish the sentence with a nod.
"Am I crazy?"
"No Emma, it's completely understandable and as for you trusting him I can't really help you since I don't what you're feeling, you just have to trust your gut you'll know when he gives you the impression that he won't tell anybody or that he will stand by you its just...it's a feeling you get"
"Thank you, I really needed that" seconds later there's a knock on the door and Rachel stands up to answer it leaving me behind to think about what she just said. I can't see who's at the door but by the way she greeted them, I can tell she's happy to see them as they walk over to the living room I did not expect him to be here.
"Matt... what are you doing here, I thought you had plans?" I walk over to him to hug him, obviously Matt is taller so when we hug my head barely reaches his shoulders and he puts his arms around my waist returning my hug.
"I did... I finished early" he explains while we pull away from our embrace, he turns to Rachel.
"Do you mind if I take her away for a couple of hours, I promise she'll be home early"
"Yeah its fine with me it all depends on her" they both turn to me and I smile at Matt.
"Of course, just give me a few minutes to change" I walk upstairs decided to wear black ripped jeans from the knees, white T-shirt with a green flannel. I already had my daily makeup done this morning so that nobody notices my dark circles under my eye but then again they hear me scream every night. Once I'm done getting ready I walk downstairs accidentally interrupting Rachel and Matt's conversation.
