"Okay, so where to first?" Clarissa asks as we are in a mall in Portland to buy some presents for Christmas which is in two days Clarissa and I are the same when it comes to presents, always buying them last minute.
"Well, who should we buy a present for first, Matt or Daniel?" I ask not really caring who it is.
"Let's do my husband first" Whenever she talks about Daniel you can tell the love she holds for her husband I see love all around and I used to see with my dad and mom, Rachel and Mark, Clarissa and Daniel, Sophia and Oscar. These people helped me see how love should really be like but only I know truly how beautiful it feels to have someone like Matt.
"What would be a good gift that I can get him?"
"You can get him a shirt" she suggests
"Could you help?"
"Of course" we head over to one of the stores in the mall which is his favorite, according to Clarrissa, and she helps me pick out a shirt for Daniel. She kept saying that I don't have to buy them anything but I insisted and soon she gave up and gave me a smile of gratitude. After we paid we went over to another store and we separated inside the store and I took that chance to find a gift for her. I heard her talking about how almost everything in her kitchen is older than Matt so I decided to get her a 12- piece cookware set but before I buy it I need to make sure that Matt nor Daniel got her one.
Me: Hey, did your dad or you get your mom a cooking set?
Matt: No, I just asked my dad and he didn't either, she will love that
Me: Yay! Okay great, well I need to get back shopping see you later
Matt: Okay have fun, love you
Me: Love you too
After I pay I head over to the car to hide her present under the seat and go back into the mall and buy Matt's present this time. I decide to get him an electric bass since he's always wanted one but has never had the chance to get one. I hate using the money my parents left for me but I really want to get them these presents, even though I've only been with this family for about half a year it really feels like I will be with them forever and I feel so close to them.
I meet up with Clarissa when I buy Matt his bass and decide to call it a day and go back home. I run upstairs and hide the presents in the guest bedroom closet since nobody is staying in that room. I go over to Matt's room to see him sleeping on his bed I don't want to wake him so I go over to him and kiss him on his forehead before going back into the guest room to wrap the presents. I head downstairs to see if Clarissa needs any help with dinner.
"Need any help?" I walk over to the kitchen.
"Actually yes, would you mind going to the grocery store?" She turns to me.
"Not at all, I'll go right now" I go upstairs to put on some shoes since I took them off when I entered Matt's room the first time. As I tie my shoelaces Matt starts rubbing his eyes as he wakes up.
"Good Morning," I chuckle.
"Where are you going?" He sits up.
"The grocery store, your mom needs some stuff for dinner tonight,"
"Alone?"
"Umm yeah?" he starts to get up and change into some joggers and a sweater.
"What are you doing?"
"Coming with you, come on" I follow after him downstairs and to the car, I'm used to this already. If he gets the chance to go with me he does, he hates it when I go places alone especially at night.
