Matt's POV
Everything hurts, my ears are ringing making it impossible to hear anything I blink a couple of times trying to adjust my sight to comprehend where I am and what happened because right now I don't know anything. The first thing I see is my car absolutely destroyed and flipped over, how did I get out? I try to get up but it hurts so I just stay but look around where is she? I look a few feet ahead to see Em laying unconscious on the floor, I crawl towards her. She's all bloody from her head, oh no!
"Em, baby wake up" I shake her but I get no sign that she heard me or that she's awake. I check to see if she has a pulse and I'm washed over with relief when I get faint heartbeats. My phone is still surprisingly in my pocket so I grab it and dial 911 while still holding Em's head on my lap.
"911 what's your emergency?"
"Uh... I've been in a car accident"
"Is there anyone else with you, sir?"
"Yes, my girlfriend but she's unconscious we need an ambulance"
"Of course what is your location?"
"uh... Isles Quarry Road"
"Hold on tight help is on the way" I hang up the phone and look at Em, through the call I had my hand over her heart to make sure she was still alive but as soon as I ended the call her heartbeat slowed down and became less frequent.
"EMMA! Don't leave, please baby don't leave me" I grab her cheeks. The ambulance gets here and the paramedics separate me from her so that they can check her and me. The put her in a stretcher and carry her to the ambulance, I stand from where I am with the paramedic and they let me ride in the ambulance with her. I sit next to the paramedic and hold Em's hand even when she can't return the gesture.
We get to the hospital in less than 3 minutes the doctors open the back doors and grab Em's gurney pushing her towards the ER. I try to follow them but they are running ahead with the love of my life.
"She has internal bleeding we are going to have to operate," one of the doctors tells the rest, surgery?
They start to take her and go through double doors but when I try to follow them a nurse stops me.
"Sorry hon you're going to have to stay behind so they can save your friends life, now come on let's get you check out" She leads me towards a bed in the ER.
"Well it doesn't seem like you will need a lot just some stitches and a cast for you're fractured forearm" I didn't even notice I broke my arm, I don't say anything I just stare at the doors where my Em just went through.
"Hon, do you have someone we can contact?" She asks after she fixes me up.
"My parents but I can call them"
"Okay great and for your friend"
"Girlfriend... her Aunt and Uncle, I'll call them as well" she smiles and nods before leaving me in a room. I decided to dial my parents first.
"Hey Matthew" my mom answers.
"Mom... I'm at the hospital"
"HOSPITAL?! Matthew what happened are you okay" I hear her get the keys and telling my father.
"I am sort of but Em..." I am trying not to cry but seeing her the way she was and having the fear that I could lose her, kills me and makes it really hard.
"Oh honey... it's going to be okay we're on our way"
"Please hurry"
"Well tell Emma's family, so don't worry about calling them" I nod even though they can't hear me.
