Poem # 22- Flickering Light

It was cold yet clear
I saw a shade of light that brightened the atmosphere
A light stand— flickering through the dark,
Illuminating the blackened park.

Gazing at the fellow light,
As seconds went by, it felt slightly right
The light flickered; I didn't flicker back,
As it all came up into a stack.

The warmth I felt despite the cold,
The tension that's surrounding my whole
The light flickered; I didn't flicker back,
While still remained at what I lacked.

People started to walk in my way,
Hoping that I'll not stay away
The light flickered, but it shut down
And there it was— I plunged back into the darkness and paid it once and for all.
