My eyes go wide, do I tug my ear back or do I dismiss it? He looks at me with a raised eyebrow, waiting for my response. I tugged my ear back with a slight frown on my face, as if to tell him 'fine, but I'm not happy about it.'
After breakfast he mouthed and I nodded. Tyler and I took our seats as a plate of pancakes and bacon was put in front of us.
"Tyler, you have another meeting after breakfast and then one again tonight. I'll only be present for the one tonight." Maxon said.
"Okay thank you," Tyler said.
I looked over at Kriss at she was eating her food, but something seemed off. I chose to ignore it, she probably just had a lot on her plate.
"America, I put in a special order for desert tonight," Maxon says suddenly.
"Oh," is all I say.
"I decided since your here, why not have strawberry tarts?"
I tried to hide my smile, but I couldn't no matter how hard I tried. I could see my smile had made him smile.
"Thank you," I said.
"Your welcome," he says as he got up to leave he quickly came over to my side and whispered "you look like you could use some cheering up."
With that he gave Kriss a kiss on the check and left.
"You only get to eat one strawberry tart," Tyler whispers in my ear.
"Why?" I said.
"You need to eat one for appearance sakes and then no more or you'll get fat, while more than you already are," He said and with that he stood up to go to his meeting.
Soon after I mumbled something to Kriss and walked out the door. I walked to the nearest window and looked out into the garden.
Amongst the colorful flowers and big trees, Maxon was sitting on our bench waiting for me.
I ran outside as fast as I could, with still being lady like.
As soon as Maxon saw me my smile faded. He looked disappointed, almost scolding me with his eyes.
"You've changed," he said.
"How so?"
He let out a long sigh before looking into my eyes.
"For one your make up is heavier than you've ever liked it before," he said as he gestured to my face.
"Well I grew up," I said, it was the best excuse I could come up with.
"No America that isn't growing up," he said.
"Everyone ages differently and this is how I aged," I said as I folded my arms looking directly at him.
"You didn't change by choice, something forced you. Also, you don't seem as happy as I remember you."
Of course I'm not as happy, I wanted to scream. The love of my life married someone else and my husband is abusive.
"Well I wasn't going to be seventeen forever," I said.
"I can see that you don't want to see the truth," he started and I opened my mouth to object, but he held up his hand and continued, "let me finish before you yell at me." I smiled at that a little before he continued, "I want you to find happiness, but before you can do that you have to find your self." And with that he walked away. He left! Just like that! I wanted to run after him and stop him, but what could I say? He was right. Oh, how I hate those words. I started to get a headache so I walked back up to the princess suite to rest my head.
After a while Tyler comes in and starts kissing me all over.
"Stop," I moaned, I felt sick and was definitely not up for this.
"Shut up," He said as his kisses continued.
"Tyler I really don't feel good," I said in between kisses.
"Don't be selfish,I need this."
"No your the one being selfish, I don't feel good." I said as he left a trail of kisses down my neck.
"Are you kidding?!" He said as he momentarily stopped his kissing. "I'm so giving, I work so you don't have to do we can have a good life. Then all you get is love." He said and started up his kisses again. As he kissed my lips over and over, all I could think about is this isn't love. I know what love feels like and this isn't it. Love is when your with the person it doesn't feel like anyone else is in the room. Love is also, putting the other persons needs above your own. This isn't love, this is lust. I allow my mind to go blank, so I don't think about what's going on around me. Tyler's kisses eventually slowed and he looked into my eyes and said
"Good machine."
I have never wanted to smack someone more.
I know this was a shorter chapter, but I just found such a good note to end it on and I couldn't resist.
