Living in darkness

Chapter 4

Is this man going crazy or something? why would he want to go out with someone like me? I will never know. All I do know I is, though, is that I want all this racket to stop. Leon is shouting at the girl in he middle, her name is apparently Brittney, who won't leave him alone about the fact that he's not going out with her.

"If you really are going to date her, then prove it. Ask her out right now," Brittney demands. I can basically see the her anger pouring out of her in the form of steam. Leon whips towards me, his face unusually calm in this situation. He walks over to me and kneels at my bedside.

"I am really sorry to do this. I really wanted to wait until you got to know me better, but I have no choice. Will you go out with me," Leon asks, grasping my hands. A weird sensation is flowing throughout my body from where our skin touches. "I know it sounds crazy, and I know that we just met, but we could take this chance to get to know each other better."

He does have a point. but what if he's only doing this because she's right here, I think. And that's exactly what I ask him

"Are you only doing this because she's here," I asks, He says no. He could be lying, I think. I guess we'll find out. "I'll go out with you." He smiles and sighs in relief. His smile sends me into a tingly frenzy.

"I promise you won't regret it," He says, and suddenly, I have this really bad urge to pee. Oh dear God why now? I think. Without thinking, I shoot out the bed and sprint out the door. I nearly crash into a doctor who is walking down the hall.

"I'm really sorry about that. Do you know where the bathroom is? I really gotta go," I ask, drawing out the really longer than necessary. As soon as she gives me the directions, I dash off down the hallway and into the bathroom.

I barely make it in time before I let it flow. Once I'm finished, I take care of my business then flush the toilet. I wash my hands and dry them before exiting the bathroom, where I run into...guess who...Trevor.

"When are you going to quit being a stalker," I ask. I'm getting tired of his games.

"When you realize you're mine," He replies nonchalantly. I scoff at his comment.

"Are you serious? That boat sailed a long time ago. Besides, I don't think your girlfriend would like the fact that he's trying to claim another girl," I retort.

"I don't care what she thinks. I'll end our relationship right now," He says.

"You are such a douche bag. And really? I don't want to talk to you unless you're apologizing to me," I say, walking past him. I get as far as the door before he speaks again.

"What is there to apologize for? I did nothing wrong," He yells. I stop just as I open the door, and I turn to face him.

"You did nothing wrong? Nothing? I can't believe you. After everything you did to me, after how you've treated me, you believe you've done nothing wrong? You've got to be kidding," I say. Yes I know I'm supposed to be the shy girl, and for real, I am. But I just can't stand people like him. "You need to stay away from me, or I'm pressing charges."

"What was he saying," Leon asks as I close the door.

"Just about how he thinks he did nothing wrong and...other things that made me so mad," I answer. Sophia crosses her arms and stares at me. "Do you really want to know?"

"Yes. What could be so bad that you would want to keep it from me," She laughs.

"It's better if I tell you everything that happened. I walked out the bathroom and bumped into him. When I asked him when he was going to quit being a stalker, He said, and I quote, 'When you realize you're mine.' I told him there wasn't any chance of that happening since we aren't together anymore, and we never will be again. Then I said you might not have liked the fact that he's trying to claim another girl. He said that he doesn't care what you think and that he would end the relationship right now. And well...you heard the rest."
