*Mrs. Baker's P.O.V*
Outside, rain fell as the thunder above roared loudly.
I sat and waited nervously for Father Joseph to come. Derek came over and took my clammy hands.
"Its going to be ok, hon." He kissed my forehead gently.
I checked the time: 11:46 p.m.
"Derek, he's late! It's getting worse and worse by the minute and I-" I got interrupted by high-pitched screams from my daughter's bedroom. Tears fell from my eyes and so I tightly hugged my husband around his chest. I tried to ignore the banging and the clawing from the wood upstairs.
The doorbell rang and the lightening showed a tall silhouette standing behind our door.
"Mr. Baker? Mrs. Baker?" He knocked on the door.
"Father Joseph?" Derek called out.
"Please open the door, it's freezing out here!" He responded.
Derek walked quickly toward the door and opened it half way so the man can walk in without the rain rushing in. The man, Father Joseph, was completely soaking wet, even though he was carrying an umbrella (which was now laying on the floor). Water dripped from his arched nose and graying hair, and he made a huge mess on the carpet. But I didn't care.
After he finished setting himself up, he turned to me.
"Where is your daughter, Mrs. Baker?" He calmly said as he clapped his hands together.
"She's right upstairs, Father." Derek answered for me. "This way."
My husband lead him upstairs to Caroline's room and I followed behind. As we arrived to the pink door that said 'Caroline's Room: No boys allowed!!' carved in, we stopped for a moment. Derek held the doorknob, looking at me as though he needs permissions to open it. I nodded my head. He took a deep breath and opened the door.
"GAAAH!" My daughter tried tackling down Father Joseph, but Derek luckily caught her. My Caroline, my young sweet Caroline, turned into a hideous monster. She looked worst than before.
Father Joseph looked frightened. He made the sign of the cross and took out a small book from his jacket.
Caroline looked at him with her beady red eyes. The whites around it became dark, almost black. She snarled and scratched my husband's arm.
"Shit!" He screamed.
I looked at her nails and they were growing unbelievably fast, but as the process continued it became yellow and almost moldy-like with added red on the tips.
Father saw what happened and instantly ordered for us to tie Caroline on her bed. We didn't have time to get the ropes from our basement, so we ripped her pillow cases and tightly tied her onto her bed. She screamed frustration, trying to make us to stop. I don't like hurting my daughter, but if it's for her own good then I must!
Father Joseph made a quick prayer and stood next to Caroline.
"What is your name, demon?"
Caroline continued to struggle against the ropes.
"What is your name?!" Father Joseph took out a silver flask and threw what seemed like holy water on her face. Her skin started to burn, and she groaned in response.
"S-stop it!" I yelled. I can't see her in pain anymore. "You're hurting her too m-"
"Please, Mrs. Baker! I know what I am doing!" He looked back at my daughter again.
"Emma, trust him. He's our only hope." Derek hugged me and caressed my hair gently.
"O-one last time, demon, what is your name?" Father leaned closer. Caroline looked at him for a second and spit blood on his face.
"YOU DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO YA PIECE OF SHIT!" That was not my daughter voice.Instead, it was deep with layers of other people's voice, including Caroline's.
Father Joseph shook as he wiped the blood off his face. He opened the flask and threw the holy water on Caroline again.
He opened the small book and nervously looked through the pages.
"Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus..." He began to speak in Latin. "Omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adve-"
"You're afraid, aren't cha? Father." Caroline, no, it began to speak. Father Joseph ignored it and continued.
"You shouldn't be afraid of me, nohohoho...You should be afraid what's coming to ya. What's coming to your little shit you call a wife." It snarled. Father Joseph looked at him with terror on his face.
"A-aden?" I heard him whisper as he dropped his book. The demon, or Aden, ripped off the ties from the bed! Derek ran over, but the demon pushed him back with so much force that the window shattered when he bumped into it.
"DEREK!" I kneeled over to the motionless body. My eyes started to blur as the tears fall from my cheek. I cried in agony. I looked over to Father Joseph, who was also lying on the floor. A pool of blood began to emerge from his neck. The demon stepped on his face.
"It's pronounced Aden, with a long A you dumb fuck." He kicked Father in the face. My Caroline, who was now covered a moldy-like skin, turned her head in a 180 degree angle to look at me. I cried my eyes out as I clumsily crawled into the wall. She, or he, smirked and brought her body towards me.
"Oh don't worry, I'm not gonna kill ya!" Aden said.
Thunder roared loudly, which made me even more scared.
"She will." Her eyes turned back to a shade of green, the whites that surrounded the iris came back.
"Mommy?" She said, with her normal voice. My heart skipped a beat. Tears fell even more.
"Caroli-"
I was interrupted by a stab through my stomache. Blood began to flow slowly, and then faster as the retracted back. I looked at her again, my beautiful Caroline. I started to have flashbacks of her in my mind. It was going so fast.
Everything was going in slowmotion. I couldn't even feel the wound anymore!
I lied in the ground facing Derek. His dead eyes were looking at me.
Then everything went dark.
