"Damn, why is it so hot in the morning?"

Caroline slammed the car door shut, entered the FBI building, and took off her thick knitted sweater. She placed her backpack and sweater on a small gray box for scanning.

"Morning, Cutie."

Beside her, a tall boy took off his jacket, revealing muscles outlining his blue long sleeve shirt. His hair was a bit greasy from his sweat, but it suited him well.

"Oh, g'morning James!" She quickly passed the metal detector and grabbed her things from a very beautiful blonde. "Thanks, Sarah."

Sarah nodded and looked back at James who was trying to comb his messy hair with his hands. "Thanks, Sarah."

"No, thank you." She winked and kept eyecandy-ing his body from the waist up, especially around his arms. James winked back at her which made Caroline a bit jealous.

"Hot weather today, huh?" He elbowed Caroline lightly on the shoulder.

"Yep. Did you run? You're a bit sweaty."

"Oh yeah, I missed the bus by a minute," he began putting his jacket on, "Had to run to the next station or else I'm dead."

"Why are you putting your jacket on?" She chuckled.

"Why? Do I look better without it?" He smirked.

"You look great no matter what you wear."

For a few seconds, Caroline didn't hear the  foot steps that followed behind her anymore. She turned around and saw James standing there with his hands inside his pockets, staring at her with his blue-green eyes.

"W-what?" She stuttered, trying to cover her flushed cheeks with her shoulders. Was it something I said...?

He smiled and look down at the floor, kicking his foot. "It's nothin'."

Ding!

Caroline looked up and saw that one of the elevator doors flew open. There, only a few people came out: an old short man with baggy eyes screaming "I need some sleep!", a middle aged man quickly walking out with his hands around his waste (maybe he ate something bad?), and yet another young, beautiful woman who was petite and slim that was rushing towards the exit. When she noticed that James was behind me, she began to slow down and fix her messy brown hair in a bun, licked her thick lips for gloss, and winked at him quickly. But to Caroline, she twitching like a mad women.

"Morning, Jenine." James tried saying politely but turned into a boring tone.

"H-hey!" She started "winking" again. Caroline rolled her eyes. The "Twitcher", James would call Jenine between him and Caroline. Despite her beauty, she had a real trouble with winking.

The two entered the elevator,  alone. They stood there for a while, waiting for someone else to come in. Then the elevator doors closed slowly.

"F-floor 13, right?" Caroline tried breaking the awkward silence and leaned towards the button.

"Well yeah, I work in the same floor with you as always."

"R-right..."

Oh god, I'm so stupid!  She mentally punched herself on the face. Where's Aden when I need him?

"So!" James jumped, startling Caroline. "During a mission, my partner found this awesome Italian restaurant the way to the copter, and yeah the boss got mad at us but I took the blame instead and...." Caroline looked up and kept nodding, understanding the words he was rapping. Some scenes she she laughed, some scenes caused her to accidentally lean on his chest because they were that hilarious. As she watched his lips moving, she began to recall her memories with him. She then remembered that this was the last day she'll see ger friends. The last day she'll see James. Her eyes began to water up, but she was still smiling. She loosened her grip on James' chest and tried wiping her eyes secretly.

"...so I was wondering if you and I could-" James stopped when he saw a small drop of water around her cheek.

"I-is something wrong? Was it something I said?"

"No, it's not that... it's just-"

"What?" James turned his body to properly face her. His expression automatically saddened, eyebrows raised.

"James, I'm going to a highschool." Caroline weakly smiled.

"Well that's great, right? You always wanted to go to one!"

"You don't understand." She took a deep breath, wiped off her extra tears, and tried her best too keep a neautral exprrssion.

"I'm going to highschool, but in a-another state. Starting tomorrow."

Ding!

The elevator door opened slowly, showing a busy hallway. Papers all over the floor, printer noises, old men pouring a superfluous amount of coffee in their drinks, women trying to fix their messy hair, etc.

"I-I um, that's wonderful..." His voice cracked. He cleared his throat loudly even though Caroline knew he tried hiding it.

"James I-"

"I gotta go."

He exited the elevator and quickly entered his office. His friends noticed his weird mood, but ignored it and went off to work. One them passed by Caroline.

"Hey, Cu-" He raised his hand for a high five, but She ignored it. Her mind focused on James, every single thing that was happening didn't matter to her anymore. She didn't even bother apologising after bumping into Mr. Allen.

She entered her classroom and sat on the desk closest to the window and looked outside.

"Perfect attendance as always, Ms. Adams." Mrs. Deprise checked her name off the clip bored.

"Lets start!"
