Once we have done our best to board up the gigantic hole, the Doctor asks "So what's been happening here?"
"Well, we're a scientific base situated on the North Pole. And it's Christmas!" I start.
"This is Kathrine, but everyone calls her Kath." I point to her over by the tree.
I point to Dan at the door. "This is Daniel, he likes to think he's the leader."
"I do not!" He retorts.
"And this is Victoria, she's the smartest out of all of us."
"Oh, it's 'they' now actually. And that's not true." Vic states.
"Okay, but don't be so modest. You look down on yourself too much."
"Wait, hold on a minute; 'they'?" The Doctor questions.
"It means they're non-binary at the moment. They don't have a gender. Vic is also gender fluid, so they switch between female and non-binary every day or so."
"Really? That's interesting. I didn't know humans experienced that." He replies.
"Yes, but anyway; back to introductions. This is Remus, they're into biology."
Remus smiles from his chair.
"Now that we've got that out of the way, can we move on to HOW HE'S HERE?" Dan exclaims.
"Yeah, I second that." Vic adds.
I speak up "Well, I mean, this isn't very different to my first encounter with him.  One moment I was at home, asleep, and the next I was in the Bank of Karabraxos. I only woke up once I was there, so I still don't know how I got there in the first place. The Doctor took me home."
"That's all well and good but that doesn't explain how he's real.  And how can we have never noticed him?!" Daniel continues.
"Well, I'm not exactly sure how he's real. I've been thinking about my little adventure ever since it happened. As for no one noticing, apparently our minds can't retain such a big blow against what we believe. It's been too impossible to comprehend...quite like the Mist actually."
"The Mist?" Katherine inquires.
"The Mist is suppose to be what shields humans from seeing the happenings of ancient myth. It was described in Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series, but I'm not certain weather it was included in the original myths."
Remus stands up. "How...long before those things figure out a way to get to us? I don't mean to be rude but we're wasting time here."
"Yes, good point." Daniel replies.
"Right, back to business then." The Doctor says.
"So, first; we need to find out what those creatures are. Then we need to figure out how to stop them." I start.
At that moment, BANG! It's the sick bay door. Something's banging on it.
"Is that them?" Remus asks.
"It can't be, they don't have fists...and they're not hard enough to make that sound." Vic answers.
"Then what is it then?" Daniel cries.
"They do now..."
"What?" We all ask.
Our heads turn to Katherine at her desk.
"I was just looking at the camera in the sick bay. It's the humanoids from before. I completely forgot about them. They're using their hands to bang on the door. Hard."
"What do we do?" Vic worries.
The Doctor walks over to me, "You seem to be the most confident out of all of these people. Brooklyn, what do you suggest we do?"
"I- don't know. I'm not good with this. I can't, think. Doctor please you must know something. You have to help us!"
A pause.
"Dream Crabs."
"What?" I ask.
"They're called Dream Crabs."
A thought sparks inside me.
"Dream Crabs.....Dream Crabs!"
"They've broken the door!" Vic yells.
"Everyone listen up!" I yell.
Everyone else in the room turns their heads to me. Still, their bodies are planted in case the crabs break through.
"These creatures are the dream crabs, they've been featured in Doctor Who once. We are all currently dreaming. That slight pain you feel in your temple is going to get worse."
Everyone except me and the Doctor look down and wince at the amplified pain. I feel it too, but am trying to talk through it.
"We need to wake up. We need to wake up or we will die."
The room is getting lighter. The banging louder.
"WE NEED TO WAKE UP!" I yell.
And then it all stops at once. I can't see or hear anything. But I feel cold. I don't feel the warmth of my blankets. I realise that the reason I can't see is because my eyes are closed. So I open them. And what I am met with saddens me. Nothing has changed. I'm still here. At the North Pole. Everyone is lying on the ground, starting to wake up.
"Good job Brooklyn." The Doctor says.
"I uh..."
I'm confused. Why are we still here? I surprise myself at the question in my head. Why would we be anywhere else but here? A thought trickles at the back of my mind. Something's wrong...
Everyone else has gotten up now, so I stand up too. The banging has stopped, but the creatures are just staring at us.
"Well, now that that's sorted I'm gonna leave." The Doctor says.
"Wait wait hold on a minute." I say.
"What?" he asks.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" I point to the soundless creatures.
"I'm sure you'll figure something out." He starts walking away.
"You've manipulated a very powerful woman before."
I stare. "How...how do you know that?"
He turns around. "I know everything."
"No, no you don't. You've even said so yourself. And there's no possible way you could've known that."
He smiles. "Which means?"
I think. "Oh.."
"I mean, seriously. What's a fifteen year old girl doing in a scientist lab?"
I look at them all. My lovely team.
"We're still dying."
At that moment, the creatures start banging on the door again. The room is sent into a state of panic.
"What's going on?!" Daniel demands.
"Listen, we're still dreaming. We're still dying. In the Doctor Who episode the group wake up from a dream, only to find they are still dreaming. They have to escape the base in order to be safe and then start waking up." I explain.
The sound of breaking technology comes from the door. Everyone looks, afraid.
"They can get away by not thinking about them, and walking outside."
The door opens. They are with us.
"CLOSE YOUR EYES, DISTRACT YOURSELF AND FOLLOW ME." I yell.
"Deep in the meadow, under the willow." I start to walk towards the TARDIS.
"A bed of grass, a soft green pillow." I hear a voice join in and footsteps follow.
However I do not focus on them, and continue trying to remember the song.
"Lay down your head, and close your eyes." More voices. More footsteps.
"And when they open." My hands touch the TARDIS doors.
"The sun will rise." I open the doors and step inside.
I continue to sing as I go deeper into the TARDIS, feeling for the railing.
"Here it's safe, and here it's warm. Here the daisies guard you from-"
The door closes. I open my eyes and see that everyone else has too.
"Time to go home." The Doctor smiles.
He starts the TARDIS and we can all relax.
"Funny, I'm a complete nerd but I never remembered the dream crabs." I remark.
"Or the fact that that there were two dreams." Vic adds.
"I wonder why we're all here..." Remus says.
"Well, we do all watch Doctor Who. Perhaps that connected us in some way." Dan answers.
"I think that's the smartest thing you've said this whole time." Kath mocks.
We all laugh. A light, pure laugh. I look up. Daniel has disappeared.
"It's starting." I say.
"What's starting?" Remus says softly. For once, not afraid.
Then when my eyes drift to him, he is gone.
"We're waking up." I smile.
"I'm a florist." Kathrine says, rather surprised.
And then she too, is gone.
"It was nice meeting you!" Vic says, before they disappear.
Then it is only me. But I can feel myself waking up. I turn to the Doctor. I have one last thing to say to him.
"Thank you Doctor, thank you for everything."

While searching for a better title for this chapter, I came up with a pun. But I felt that it would take away from how I wrote the story, so I decided I would include it at the end, as an Author's Note.
Alternative Title: A CRABBY day.
