So in this book, I've already told you guys how to upload your story. So if you were/are working with me then yay! You've posted your story. So now you're thinking about how to get people to read them.
So here I am to give you guys a few tips!
1. Social Media
Promoting your work on Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter etc. is a great way to go. It gives you lots of reads and comments on your stories. But one bad thing is that people read your story and it doesn't give you reads because they don't have a wattpad account.
Another one bad thing is that like on Facebook, you might have your private information on it, like family and friends and some person can take it and share it on wattpad.
So just be careful, but otherwise social media is a great way of promoting yourself.
2. Wattpad Community
The Wattpad community is supportive and lots of people would love to read your story, if you get involved. Here are some ways to promote yourself:
•Follow other writers and read their work. Get an idea of what they like, and tell them what you like about their work.
•When someone follows you, send them a quick message and let them know how much you appreciate it.
•Respond to comments on your work and suggestions about your story.
•Stories you read. Does someone sentence in the story catch your eye? Comment on it and people will sure to click on your account.
•Use short or catchy titles. Titles that are too long will give away the whole story.
•Keep your fans and profile updated with your latest activity. If you're going to take a break from writing or need help with anything, your profile is a great place to let others know about what's going on.
•Does your sister or brother have friends on Wattpad? Ask them to let thier friends read yours!
The 2 Do Nots For Promoting Your Work
1. Do not promote your work on someone else's story. That's just plain rude and people could block or report you for doing that on their work.
2. Do not go on someone's profile and start messaging them and their followers to read your work. Most people don't like it. Make sure you read through their bio and if it says "you can promote you work on my page" then you can but if they don't then don't write anything.
Hope this was helpful, you can pop a pm to me if you have a question.
