This one was requested by carebear2326 and it's the prompt 18 (I've been brokenhearted blue since the day we parted why, why did I ever let you go? From mamma mia by ABBA)

It's a sort of sequel of the prompt 23

Peter anticipated his first day of school. He was nervous to see you. he had broken up with you during the holidays. He loved you he truly did, you were his sunshine. However he was scared to put you in danger. If someone discovered his secret identity, he would easily find your identity too and he could kidnap you to put Peter under pressure. He grudgingly decided to end this relationship, it was truly hard for him but he had to do it. when he saw the look on your face when he told you that it was over his heart sank. He didn't find the courage to made up an excuse and he just walked away. He knew that he would instantly beg you to take him back if he had stayed a bit longer with you.

The holidays were awful, he felt so lonely and empty. He couldn't help but check that you were okay when he was doing his Spiderman's patrol. Sometimes he looked at you through your window, he knew that it was creepy but he couldn't help it either. He deeply regretted his decision. You seemed so sad and he wanted to console you. at night before going to sleep he had the habit to scroll through the picture you had taken when you were dating.

The worst part of it was that he couldn't speak about the pain of the breakup with his friends or aunt May since he kept his Spiderman identity as a secret. He only could share his painful feelings with Ned but his best friend thought that Peter's choice was wrong. Ned was convinced that Peter should have told you the truth and taken care of you. plus you were a big tough girl so you could protect yourself to limit the risks. So Ned did his best to show Peter some support but sometimes it was not that simple for him.

Peter was having hard time to fall asleep since he was only thinking about you. he felt panicked at the idea to see you the following day. He didn't know which was the worst: to see you still crushed or to see that you had moved. He wanted the best for you so he hoped that you would have recovered but he anticipated to see you talk with other guys, have fun with them and maybe date some else cause he didn't know how he would handle his jealousy.

When he entered in the high school for a new year he looked everywhere in the corridor but you were nowhere to be found. He was a bit relief but also quite sad. He had dreamt of your sweet smile during the night and had wished to see it this morning even if it was from afar. He eventually joined Ned who told him that you had already arrived and you had joined your closest friends to go to class. Peter nodded and followed Ned to their first class.

His first morning at school was so long, algebra class and chemistry class seemed to last an eternity. During lunch time he spotted you with your friends and you looked rather happy. He was glad to see you like that, you were adorable. his heart skipped a bit when you let out a giggle at one of your friend joke, you were so perfect at this moment and he felt guilty to have broken up with you. he wanted to talk with you, to apologize and beg you to take him back but he knew he couldn't, not after what he had done to you, not now when you had moved on or at least felt better. Ned noticed the look on Peter's face, patted his shoulder and whispered "maybe not now but if you want her back but go and speak to her".

The following days Peter watched you from afar. Anytime he wanted to talk to you something went on his way. He had approached you one time but he had finally taken a step back when he had noticed your frown, all his courage had vanished away, he wasn't sure that he was prepare to face you.

He grew really jealous when he realized that now that you were single some guys were interested by you. one of them was really into you. he was often around you, talking to you and Peter even thought that he had taken you on a date but he wasn't sure. However if he hadn't then it was a question of time. So it was now or never if he wanted to date you again.

You were at your locker checking that you had your notebook before leaving the high school. When you turned yourself Peter stood in front of you. You took a step back and frowned, why was he there. He remained silent for few seconds, thinking about how to engage the conversation. You hesitated between leaving him there like the fool he is or giving him time to know what he had to say. You eventually chose the second option. He took a deep breath and then said quickly and without breathing "Y/N I really want to talk to you. you certainly don't want to and I understand because I didn't treat you well. But the thing is I regret my decision, I do! I've been brokenhearted blue since the day we parted why, why did I ever let you go? Probably because I was too blind to see how I care about you and how much you count for me. I want you back and I don't have arguments except I love you and I promise to take care of you every single day if you give me another chance."

You looked at him with wide eyes. Was he serious? A part of you had dreamt about this moment and wanted him badly but the other was confused and wasn't ready to take him back. It was a war between your heart and your brain. You weren't sure about what to say and worried look he gave you convinced you that you had to reply and didn't wait longer to speak. So you answered "Listen Peter I don't know what to say because I miss you but if we get back together it won't be same, we can't pretend that nothing happened. After weeks of sadness I manage to see some light in my life and live fully again and I don't want to live that again. So I am sorry Peter I can't take a decision right now I need time. Maybe while I'm thinking we can still be friends like we used to." Peter's face fell a little but he couldn't blame you, he was the one you had messed up so he nodded and whispered "don't worry take your time I'll wait"
