it doesn't bother you?

You were Tom's best friend, you grew up together, you both began to play in movies together. You used to see each other frequently. You used to post picture of you together on social medias. Fans used to ship you. however you weren't dating. Every interviewers asked the same question and every time you had to answer that no you weren't together. But you didn't mind that was funny to see people picturing you as a couple. 

You were in the house you bought in L.A., thanks to the money you earned, with Tom, Jacob, Haz and Zendaya. you were playing in the swimming pool with Tom. You noticed that Zendaya has taken a picture of you and certainly posted it on Instagram. That made you smiled, you knew that it would increase the rumors about you and Tom. When you left the swimming pool to pour you a glass of lemonade, you remarked that Jacob has mumbled something to Tom and he was flushing. You wondered why but to be honest you were too busy to stare at him to really think about it. you had a crush on Tom since something like forever that's why it didn't bother you when people asked if you were together.

You were at the Jimmy Fallon's show promoting your new movie. It was an indie movie with Jared Leto and Cole Sprouse. Most of the people thought that you would have an Oscar for your role. Therefore Jimmy was doing a funny game about Oscar's winners with you. after that he asked you some personal questions about you, shooting films... You were surprised since he didn't ask you the question about you and Tom. During the interview, he told you that he had a surprise for you. you were beyond chock when you saw Tom on the stage. He took the seat next to you and answered some questions. You were laughing together as Tom was telling how he met you when you were just four. Jimmy asked why you never play together in the same movie and you smiled saying that you never had the occasion. Nonetheless it would be a pleasure if one day to get a role in the same movie. At the end of the show, he eventually asked:

_ So I know that everybody keep asking but maybe the answer would be different this time and we all hope it will be: so are you together?

_ I'm afraid that my answer is the same as usual: we're not dating. You replied as you used to however you noticed that Tom seemed upset but you assumed that you were probably just dreaming.

_ Can I ask you why? Your eyes grew wide, you didn't expect this question no one never ask you that. Your mouth was dry.

_ I think that there is no real explanation Jimmy, it just never happened, we're friend and this is just that. Tom said bitterly.

After that Jimmy asked few more questions about your friendship and how it has evolve since you're famous. After the show you drove back home with Tom, you had invited him to diner with you. he didn't talk much in the car, you thought that it was because he was tired but you weren't sure. He acted weirdly since the end of the show. He was helping you to cook falafels still silent. You wanted to break the silent because it was an awkward situation but you didn't know what to say and Tom looked upset. You began to eat in a dead silent. Tom finally broke it:

_ everyone thinks we're a couple. He stated resentfully clenching his fist as he was containing anger.

_ I know. You didn't what you could say that was a fact and you couldn't deny it.

_ You know? He emphasizes on the know. It doesn't bother you?

_ Should it? does it bother you? personally it doesn't, I mean there are worse situation than it, people think that I am dating a popular cute actor that could be more awful.

_ It bothers me. He stated coldly and you looked at him weirdly. I've enough to pretend that it doesn't' because it does! He was furious.

_ Why? You asked quite scared and hurt that the fact that people believed you were dating could upset him so much.

_ I've enough to hear the same damn question and the same damn answer. It bothers me that people see us as a couple but you don't. you always replied that we are not together but I am sure that you never imagine what it would be if we were dating. You were lost what was he trying to say.

_ I don't understand Tom...

_ Of course you don't understand! Don't you see how much it hurts to say that we are not together, to know that you see me just as a friend while people ship us, while I love you! he yelled at you.

_ You love me?

_ Of course I do! I'm sorry to tell you that like that but I've enough to pretend and hide my feelings. You looked at him too surprise to say a word. I should go, it's better for us if we don't see each other for a while. He eventually said clearly hurt by your silent.

_ No stay! You begged him. I... I don't know what to say because I never thought that you were feeling like that. I think that I feel the same way towards you. we could, you know, answer yes the next time they ask us if we are dating.

He nodded smiling like he was the happiest guy on earth.
