Chapter 14

Nash's POV

Lisa was right. I had no explanation that would be satisfying enough. I just think back to the look in her eyes, hurt. I made her that way. I caused her all that pain. Me. I did that. I can't even begin to explain what happened with that girl at the food court.

I was sitting at a table and this girl comes up to me. She had long blonde hair and brown eyes. She was pretty fit and she was wearing a pretty, blue dress. I won't lie she is actually pretty attractive but I take no interest in her considering I have a girlfriend.

"Hi!" The girl says, apparently very happy to see me.

"Um...hi. Who are you?" I say confused.

"Oh! Right! I'm Maddie! I am like your BIGGEST fan!"

Wow this girl sure was perky, and a bit irritating but I would never turn down a fan. Even if I have heard a bunch of girls say they are my "biggest fan."

"Oh well hi then!" I say with a smile. She giggles a little but then responds.

"Can I sit?" She gestures towards the chair across from me.

"Uhh...sure." I respond not knowing what else to say without seeming rude.

"Thanks!" She sits down and we start having a conversation, not going pretty deep and only revealing the information that I would want a fan to know.

"Yea things have been pretty tough for me lately." She says, "You know depression, thoughts of suicide, starving myself." She was speaking all of this as if it had something to do with me, and of course I feel bad seeing as though I can't do anything about this.

"And only one person has helped me through it all." I was expecting her to say something like her mom or her best friend but I was surprised at who it really was.

"That person is Nash Grier." She looks as though she is about to cry but I can tell she is holding it back.

"You make me feel alright in the world, like I am here for a reason. Thank you for that." Her urge to cry quickly passes as she asks for a picture.

"Hey, can I have a picture with you?"

"Sure." She turns her phone so that the front camera is showing and I lean over the table to get on the picture. She smiles her real smile and I kiss her cheek right as she hits the button causing her to blush a little.

She puts her phone down and we are both still leaning on the table towards each other. She looked so beautiful I can't help but lean in and kiss her. She resisted at first but then kissed me back.

I don't know what happened, the kiss was going great but then I suddenly remembered Lisa. Almost as if on cue I heard Lisa call me.

"Nash?" I look up instantly pulling myself away from Maddie.

Lisa starts to run away and I run after her. What have I done? I keep running when I hear Maddie from behind me.

"Nash? Was that your girlfriend?" Her tone was full of anger and confusion.

"Umm...yes?" At this point I'm pretty sure she won't want to be anymore.

"You're a pig! You shouldn't cheat on her even for me! If I had known I would've never kissed you back!"

I had everything, and I just threw it away. How could I have done that to Lisa? How could I have not thought about my girlfriend that entire time? I really messed things up now and Lisa probably never wants to see me again. And after that visit to her house I know that it's the truth.

Ugh. I have to clear my head get these thoughts out of my brain. I start to drive to my special place in the forest. Walking down that path does help me clear my mind. I can hear the water running from the stream calming my nerves making me at peace. I walk around the trees through the little secret entrance. When I get there I look around taking it all in, but by the water, sitting next to the rocks curled up in a ball was someone who I didn't expect to see at all.

"Lisa?"
