A girl one day
Just had to pray
With her dad in the war
Smiling was a chore
Her mom couldn't be found
It was like she was spellbound
She always sat in place
No emotion on her face
With her family split
The girl grew unfit
Her hope started to fade
Oh how she was afraid
That one day
Through the doorway
A boy walked
The girl was shocked
Never seen him before
He kneeled by her on the floor
The boy wiped her tears
Like he knew her for years
He became her knight
Helping her fight
Since that day
He would stay
Help her cope
Restore her hope
He would be her shield
Till she was healed
It took so long
But they staid strong
Finally one day
In the middle of may
Back from overshore
Her dad walked through the door
With a smile on his face
Approached at a great pace
In his arms they swayed
Like it had been a decade
Then one day
She went to pray
There sat the boy
Showing pure joy
He wore a pair of wings
They had no strings
After hugging her tight
He took to flight
There came one day
When she slipped away
She was greeted with a great sight
For waiting for her was her angel knight
