Chapter 7

"I'm home!" May yelled from the front.
Peter and I quickly scrambled to get up off of the bed.

"Hey Pete I need you- oh" She stopped.
"Hey May" I embarrassingly tucked a hair behind my ear.

"Did I interrupt anything?" "Oh god n-"no!" Peter and I said. She looked at me back and Peter then back at me and smiled and walked away.

"Use protection!" She yelled. "Oh god May!" Peter groaned as May laughed.

"Oh gosh look at the time, I've got to get home and do homework" I said grabbing my keys.

"Want to do homework together at my place?" I asked. "Sure! But I doubt we will get anything done" Pete laughed.

"True" I laughed.

We headed into my apartment and set up by the couch. "Okay want to work on Chem first?" Pete asked.

"Yeah, that is my worst subject"

"So multiply the speed of light and measurement for energy then divide it by your mol" He said tracing over my paper.

"Perfect! And that is your answer!" Pete and I gave each other a well deserved high-five. "Damn I didn't know it was this easy"

"Yeah all it is, is just memorizing formulas and everything." He said slumping on the couch running his fingers through his hair.

It took us another 2 hours to finish our hw. "Finally! Oh god I'm such a bad person I never asked if you wanted anything to dr-" Suddenly Pete's phone rang.

He picked it up quickly. "Uh Yeah! I'll be right there ummm" He was struggling to get out a word. "Mr. Uhh... STRANGLE" He put down his phone and shoved his school materials in his bag.

"Thank you so much for the company today I had so much fun, but I just got an urgent call about...erm...stuff and yep" He said quickly.

"Oh-um-okay then! I'll see you tomorrow?" I said opening my door.

"Yep!" He said as he flew down he stairs.

What was that all about??

I went back inside waiting for my mum to get home. I was starving!

On cue she walks in. "I got us some take out!" She said placing our food down onto the counter. "I heard from Happy that this is his favorite place"

"Wait, you actually have conversations with him?"

"Honey, you know he's human right?" She chuckled. "Oh, Mr. Banner is asking you to bring a dinner tomorrow, you are going to be there for a while."

"Wow, how many more tests do I need?" I questioned.

"Many more, he said, but they are for a better cause. He told me no needles" she smiled.

"Thank god! I h- Suddenly there was a huge explosion causing us to fall into the ground.

"Holy shit!" I screamed holding my ears. Fear was apparent on our faces.

"I think it's coming from outside!" I helped my mum up and we ran to my window, we could not see anything.

Call from Happy Hogan

"They are here, you need to get out of the apartment." He hung up.

"Shit Mum they are here?!" I grabbed her hand and we ran out of the apartment.

Dust filled the halls. "Honey, take the other stairs! The emergency!" My Mum yelled.

"Wait!" I ran to May's door and knocked. "May! May!"

She frantically opened the door. I could see small cuts on her knees.
"We need to get out of the apartments, there is a fire!" I said.

She didn't say anything but just grabbed my hands and we ran to the emergency stairwell.

"Mum this is May, May, Mum." I said out of breathe running down the stairs.
Suddenly another explosion shook us and we fell to the ground.

"That is no fire." May said getting up.

We could here many footsteps racing down towards us. They did not sound friendly.

"Run." I whispered.

We flew down the stairs but the footsteps were catching up. We made it to the alley way and shoved anything we could find in front of the door.

"Get in!" Someone shouted from the street. Thank god it's Happy.

We piled into the car and drove off.
