Disclaimer: I do not own Rick Riordan's Heroes of Olympus series.

"No, no," I kept muttering and shaking my head in disbelief as I encountered a hell hound in Camp Half - Blood's Woods. I knew for a fact this wasn't Mrs. O'Leary.
I slowly backed away, mentally criticizing myself for leaving my weapon in my cabin. The hell hound growled and started advancing towards me. Shoot.
I scanned my surroundings for a possible sanctuary. There! To my left, a couple yards away, a bunker was stationed. Perfect. I just needed to make sure the hell hound didn't catch me in its jaws and rip me to shreds while I was running to the cabin.
I looked at the ground and found an enormous branch. I could work with it... I slowly picked up the branch and threw it with all my strength like a discus. I bolted, not looking to see if my plan had worked.
Miraculously, I reached the door and threw it open then slammed it behind me. I slid down the door in exhaustion, beads of perspiration on my face.
After a few moments of quietly thanking my godly parent, I decided to look around the cabin. It was stuffed with blue prints, inventions, and provisions.
"This is genius," I muttered to myself, looking over a blue print.
"I know!" A boy, maybe three years older than me, agreed with me. "That was quite an entrance you made."
"You would probably do worse if you were being chased by a hell hound that isn't Mrs. O'Leary." I sighed, pulling my hair into a ponytail. "Where did you come from?"
The boy grinned. "Name's Leo. Leo Valdez, Son of Hephaestus, Bad Boy Supreme, or Hot Stuff. This wonderful place is Bunker Nine."
"Oh!" My eyes lit up. "Is this the bunker where Greek demigods planned during the war with the Romans?"
"But of course!" Leo's eyes lit up as well. "Isn't she a beauty?"
"Bunker Nine isn't a ship, Leo." I laughed.
"Aye, lass," Leo mimicked a pirate's voice. "But I am going to build one soon. I've had that dream since I was a little Latino imp. The Argo II."
"Ha!" I giggled. "You even have your own Jason!"
"Perfect, isn't it?" Leo winked at me and I felt a light blush dusting my cheeks. Gods, what was wrong with me today?
For the next few hours, Leo showed me his blue prints and designs for the Argo II. I marveled at all of them, sometimes adding suggestions and tweaking parts here and there. Leo was so compliant, readily agreeing and complimenting my ability in engineering and math.
"You know, Leo," I tapped the paper with my pencil, "you could adjust this right here..." I trailed off and looked up when Leo didn't respond.
He was looking at me, smiling softly.
"What?" I stood up straight, suddenly self conscious.
"You're so smart and beautiful," he murmured.
"Um," I swallowed and looked away, my face completely red by now. I had no idea how to respond. I only noticed now the sun had gone down hours before. "It's so late! You must be tired and not knowing what you're saying..."
"Sure, Y/N," Leo raised a skeptical eyebrow at me. "If you say so. Let me walk you to your cabin. A young lady should never walk through these woods unaccompanied at this hour."
Leo offered me his arm and I took it with a shy smile. A few minutes later, we arrived at my cabin.
Before I had a chance to open the door, it flung open and I was swarmed with all my brothers and sisters.
"Valdez!" My oldest siblings eyed my arm in Leo's. Leo grinned at me, not in the slightest ashamed, but let me free my arm. "We should've known it was you!"
My younger siblings carried me inside. The last thing I heard before I fell asleep was my oldest siblings giving Leo the talk. Maybe, just maybe, I had found someone. Thank you, Aphrodite.
