The Twins

chapter 12

   Back a year before the twins were born, the present king was only a lowly shoe maker in the kingdom. Ruby was only in the kingdom for a short while so, she needed to pack a lot of supplies for the trip. She met him and they had a lot in common, they both were part animal, had magic and they both even liked a lot of the same things. They were both friends for the longest time, Ruby even stayed longer so they could hang out more.

   When she had to leave the kingdom, she promised that she would send letters and he could send them back. What she didn't know was that he managed to become king, he told her all about it and promised that he would keep the kingdom in even better condition than when she was last there. But right after he sent that letter people came bursting through the door, saying he had to go looking for the most wanted person. What he didn't know was, it was Ruby, the previous king didn't like that she was more powerful than him and his entire army put together. When he found out it was because the crowd had found her home and captured her lover. He saw her running away in a small force field surrounding her, so she couldn't be seen by normal people.

   He let her get away but after that incident the letters stopped coming and he grew more and, more greedy with the power of a king. He sent the kingdom into ruin leaving the people in debt, they couldn't afford food, water, or even to stay in their own houses before he sensed the twins power. When the sudden increase in tax, rent, anything you could pay for nobody could afford even the ones who still managed to keep their houses couldn't.

   He went against his most trusted friend, and his kingdom, and nobody could take it back.
