The Twins

Chapter 1

     It is 16 years later the twins are now going to celebrate their 16th birth day. Gram and Gramps have been taking good care of them, keeping the promise, they made all those years ago. Onyx is now 6 feet tall and has bright green eyes and dark black hair, Raven is almost 5 1/2 feet tall but isn't quite there yet, she has sea blue eyes with dark black hair. Their hair is as dark as a starless night with no moon in sight. As they sit down at the table ready to eat lunch, Gram brings out a cake full of candles they had made the day before. They both knew exactly what they wanted more than anything, to meet their Mom and Dad just once and find out why they were in such danger that they had to give them to their grandparents.

     As they blew out the candles they felt light headed and were going to fall over from being so dizzy, with a sharp pain in their head and back. They screamed in pain because this felt like all their muscles where being torn from their bodies into a thousand pieces. Gram and Gramps were scared and curious about what was happening to their grandchildren, after a couple of minutes of screaming, they fainted cause their bodies couldn't handle much more pain. Gram and Gramps looked at each other in disbelief of what was lying on the floor in front of them.

     "Why did this have to happen now?" Said both Gram and Gramps.

     When Onyx woke up, he was in the woods, but the trees where an unusual color, a mix of purple leaves and a darker shade of purple for the bark. He thought, "Where am I? and why can't I speak?!".

     Just then a figure about as tall as him came up to him and whispered so quietly you could hardly hear, " Beware of the man dressed in red."

    He then vanished into thin air in a flash so bright it could blind a person. He then woke up with a start, hitting his head on the bed above him. He then fell on the floor hitting his head once more, rolling on the floor in pain he realized there was something soft underneath him and his hearing felt like he was right next to his grandparents, but their room was on the other side of the house. How could he only now hear this well, what was going on? First it was his dream and now his hearing senses were supernatural.

   When Raven woke up it felt as if she was being crushed by the weight of her own house, but when she lifted the only part of her body she could move, all the weight on her was gone. When she sat up she was face to face with a wolf, glowing blue, if you saw it you would think it was drawing outlined in blue. When the wolf opened its mouth, it spoke in a kind soft tone, like a mothers soothing lullaby,

     " Do not be afraid my child, I do not wish to harm you. I wish to tell you that I am your spirit animal and the part of you that you can turn into if you try, and with practice you can turn into me without thinking about it." Raven, full of curiosity asks,

    " Wha-" but before she could say anything the wolf interrupts and says

    "Before you even ask, yes, your brother also has a spirit animal but he doesn't know it quite just yet because he isn't ready, you'll have to keep us a secret just for a few days.".

     Felling that the wolf is telling the truth she trusts her and what she has told and agreed to not tell her brother until he tells her that he has a spirit animal just like her.

     When Raven woke up again it appeared to be mid-day or afternoon, she sat up groaning in pain from a massive headache. The door opens revealing her brother but something was different about him. She looked at his head and saw something anyone would have thought to be impossible, there were WOLF EARS on his head! Behind him moving was a TAIL she got up and ran to the nearest mirror and saw she also had a pair of wolf ears and tail. After she saw the ears and tail she remembered the headache. Her brother heard her wince and handed her the water he had ready for when she woke up.

     "I know it hurts right now but you just have to put up with it just for a few more minutes, alright?" Said Onyx with a concerned look.

     She sighed and took the water " Ugh, alright. I guess I could but up with it for a little longer."

     He smiled and walked to the mirror looking at his fresh look still surprised at how this had happened in the first place. He was now able to tell her what he saw in the dream and what the figure had warned him about. She was stunned by how much detail he gave her and, was still surprised as to why his spirit animal didn't show himself and how he showed himself in a human form or at least from what her brother saw it was human. Then she noticed that something about her brother was different, his eyes were unusual colors now, one blue the other green. Onyx had noticed the same thing about his sister, at the same time they both said, " Hey your eyes are different colors!".

     After a second of silence they both laugh but, stopped after a few minutes because their door opened showing Gram and Gramps holding large bags full of supplies.
