The Twins

Chapter 3

    After what they thought was about a couple of miles away from their home they both look at each other and turn around to see that their house is nowhere to be seen. What seemed to be a few miles for them was about 20 for an average person, realizing this Onyx decided to have a look in the bag Gram and Gramps had backed for him. Raven noticed almost as soon as Onyx set his bag down she did to, to have a look in hers as well. Raven noticed on the inside of the top of her bag had her favorite book as well as her whole families favorite book about "Ruby" she had said out loud.

   Onyx heard her and came over looking as confused as ever as to why she had said "Ruby" in the first place. He then saw the book about Ruby and a piece of paper hanging ever so slightly out of the back of the book, moving quickly enough so even Raven didn't even see him move, or she was just so distracted as to why the book was in her bag. Onyx read the paper out loud it said, "Find the place where she is said to be hiding in this book and she will give you answers as to where your parents are.".

   Both as weirded out as they could ever be they didn't exactly think that Ruby was a real person, they thought that she was just a person made from someone with a wild imagination. Even though they thought that she wasn't real, but they knew that their grandparents wouldn't lie to them, so they were now reading the book were there were pieces of paper hanging out that had looked the same as the note. One was in a page with a map, but something was different about it this time, this time there was a red spot on it titled 'our house' and it showed where they were now. With the markers where they were it was sparkling a blue and purple, when they saw this they both looked at each other and Raven started to walk away, and the blue dot had started to move while the purple one stayed in place. When she came back the dots came together making a dark purple color, they didn't know who did the magic sensing where they were but then a breeze came by they both had gotten an unfamiliar sent hit their noses. They had no idea how or when that sent had gotten there but all they knew that their grandparents didn't take this book out until today because with that sent the both had to sneeze after from the dust.

   The moon had started to rise by the time they had realized how long they had been looking through that book. They got out their sleeping bags and set up a tent and slept for what had seemed forever to them, when Onyx came to it was still night, he went to go back to sleep when he realized that Raven wasn't in the tent anymore. He shot up and tried to get out but when he raised his hand he saw a paw instead, then he kept turning around and around trying to see the rest of himself but from what he saw he was a wolf. However, after a while of more spinning he stopped he tried once again to open the tent zipper, this time he used his claw to pull the zipper down. When he was outside he saw another wolf sitting by where they had put a fire that was now out, as he got closer he saw the wolfs eyes were the opposite of his. Raven heard something creeping up on her, turning around and leaping to hold down whatever it was that tried to seek up on her.

"RAVEN!" yelled the wolf "Get off your heavy in this form!"

"Huh? Oh, it's just you Onyx."

"Yeah yeah, now will you get off me?"

   She got up moved a bit away, they both looked at each other then laughed and they kept laughing for a while until they heard in the background a eco. But what they had heard wasn't them laughing they heard what sounded like a coyotes laugh, but he noise after is the one that made them worry was in the brush nearby was moving just ever so slightly when they both had breathed in and there was an unfamiliar sent nearby. Then out of no wear there was a, bunny, Raven fell onto her back laughing because her and her brother both thought it was going to be something that would try to kill them.

   " That wasn't funny Raven!", yelled Onyx.

   The only thing that they didn't notice was that they both had blacked out before they even knew what was going on. When they could see again they were both in front of two dead men, one had a beard with short hair and what looked like a gun smashed into tiny pieces, the other had a beard and long air with a tranquilizer that was slightly used in his leg.

   The next morning, they were back to normal except for the blood on their cloths, they both had at least a little bit of blood but Raven had the most almost covering her whole front and from her nose down on her face was covered in it. Onyx had only a little on his cloths but the most of it was on his face but he handled it a lot worse than Raven did. The night before was still fresh in their minds but it wasn't the same experience for both of them, Onyx had no idea how or when he had blacked out but all he thought of was that he was a monster.

   Raven couldn't remember how or when she blacked out but she knew exactly what had happened before she had control over her own body. She was back in the place where she had met the wolf after a couple of minutes the familiar voice had said that she was going to take control only until she knew her and her brother was safe. She knew it was the wolf who had told her this but she had looked around for a bit so she had something to do. When she found, a pond but instead of water in their she had saw her brother and two other human men standing nearby him. She couldn't believe that she was looking out of her own eyes in a pond, but with everything that had already happened recently it wasn't much of a surprise to her. Then she heard the voice once again saying how she shouldn't get too close to the pond or the wolf might not be able to keep full control until she and her brother is safe. So, she took a step back and just watched as everything happened right before her.

   Now human Onyx still shaken up about what had happened without him even realizing what he did, started to pack up their camp trying his hardest not to look at the bodies and puddles of blood. Raven did the same, but she didn't seem to mind the puddles or the bodies nearly as much as Onyx did. After a while of walking they took out a box that held some food gram had packed the day of, so it wouldn't go bad quickly. After a while they yet again had heard a ruffle in the bushes near by them, but this time it was a wolf. The same wolf that they had saw when they were kids, it had saw them and started to walk back the way it had come. Both filled with curiosity the followed the wolf, they stayed a few feet away walking as quietly as possible, then after following the wolf for a few minutes they heard a loud whistle almost as if it was right next to their now sensitive ears. The wolf then had picked up its pace heading toward the place the whistle sounded.

   They both needed a minute to get over the ringing in their ears but once it was gone they both took off in the same direction as the wolf. After a couple more minutes of walking they hear a woman's voice, it sounded kind and soft when they were within ear shot of her voice. They duck down trying not to be noticed when they hear the woman say, " You can come out now. I'm not going to hurt you.".

   Reluctantly they got up and had walked over to the woman or what they thought was a woman from her voice, she wore a black cloak that had covered her entire face but at the top of the hood there were ears sticking out from it.
